The scary part is May is probably the Royals best pitcher, if it was anyone other than him or Greinke, the line may have been -600 or -700

I remember early last year Pedro and the Unit were both -400 on the same day and they both lost.

funny thing is santana is an ordinary scrub having a decent season. the bitch has an ERA over 3. the treat the kid like hes the second coming of god damn pedro martinez. hes got two pitches that work ok an 88 mph slider and a 92 mph fastball but the kid aint no randy jhonson. comical stuff. tune in, youll see what i mean. i know all the handicapping MLB guys they got alll these lengthy paragraphs everytime he pitches "he sucks he sucks" well. . .theyre right

Actually Rob, Santana is young and has shone as a starter every opportunity he's had. He only started starting full time in the middle of last year and he got off to a slow start this year. Since the first two months, he's been lights out. He doesn't have the time of service other top starters have, but he's definitely top notch and calling him a scrub is a disservice.

Johan Santana's numbers in his last 16 starts:

119.1 IP, 152 K's, 60 hits allowed, 0.70 WHIP. 1.66 era. Has given up more than 2 earned runs only once in that stretch, giving up 3 in a victory.
Has a record of 13-2 over that stretch, with one no decision (a Twins win).
Two losses were 1-2 and 0-2, CWS (Garland), DET (J.Johnson).

Pretty impressive numbers for an "ordinary" pitcher.

He was 24 at the start of the season, a part time starter first year, then promoted full-time in the middle of last year. Since then, he has had one bad stretch (this year, he lost 4 straight). Me thinks the funkster might have dropped a little dough on this. In the last calendar year he has been the premier pitcher in the major leagues.
Find me another pitcher with stats equivalent to him.

That being said I wouldn't lay -400 on Danny Almonte against a bunch of 8 year olds.

Rob the K's are there, 152 in his last 119 IP. I believe he leads the league last I checked. It's more a reflection of a top notch pitcher with a good team at home against a going nowhere team that is miserable on the road.

In the American League,
Santana is 1st in K's, WHIP, K per 9ip, hits allowed(1.13 less per 9ip than the closest), and 1st in opp BA against (more than 25 points than anyone else).
He is second in ERA to Hudson.

This year the biggest spreads for a pitcher at home against any random club would be:

1: a healthy Jason Schmidt
2: Santana
3: Schilling
4: Oswalt
5: Pedro
6: Mulder
