LSU escapes as the OSU Kicker botches his 3rd PAT attempt of the game...

The 2nd PAT was moved back (penalty) because the OSU player would not give the game ball back (because he scored a TD with it)

Nice lesson

The SEC officials with their two game deciding holding calls in OT didn't help either - regardless, the boys is a goat.

He makes a 40 yard field goal and misses 3 PATs go figure. LSU lucky to survive against 17 (or so) point dog.

BATON ROUGE, La. - Defending co-national champion Louisiana State rallied late in regulation against unheralded Oregon State to tie the game, then beat the 18 1/2-point underdogs 22-21 in overtime Saturday night.

No. 4 LSU thus avoided becoming the first defending champion to lose its opener since 1998 when Michigan lost to Notre Dame.

Marcus Randall ran 6 yards for a touchdown in overtime to give LSU a 22-15 lead.

Oregon State responded with a 19-yard touchdown pass from Derek Anderson to Joe Newton to make the score 22-21, but Alexis Serna missed his third extra point of the game to end it.

A fake would have won the game for Oregon State RIGHT THERE.

Mind boggling a coach would let his horrible kicker in bad conditions go out there and play to get into a 2nd OT that they were would have been a big dog to win.

Yeah after he had already missed two Point Afters, the coach was a FOOL for not going for 2. That was their best chance at winning, especially with momentum and the home field in LSU's favor. And I would have said that even if he had made the Point After, because even if he did somehow make it do you really think he was going to be able to make 2 or 3 more extra points and/or FGs in the OT which he probably would have had to do for them to win? A coach has gotta have the guts to go for 2 in that situation.
