Before the season started, I chimed in that the Cardinals would win the NL Central. I even made a bet with D2 Bets that the Cards would have more wins than the Cubs. At the All Star Break, posted again with nearly all doubters. For those that doubted me, time for some kudos. Magic number at 10, winning record or even record against all teams except Milwaukee but have 8 games left with them so I expect that to change. Best Record in baseball. Heads up. This team will win the National League pennant and go to the World Series. The only team in my belief who can beat them is Boston if Pedro and Schilling are unconscious. Considering we have no fear of Schilling since we have seen him twice in 3 years in playoffs, I like our chances. Great chance that Championship #10 is coming home to St. Louis!

imo, yankees have no chance. Everyone talks about Cardinals pitching well it is now best in era in NL. Yankees have no starting pitching. Mussina? noap Brown? Out for year? Loaiza? r u kidding me Vasquez? Been average to terrible (sp in 22-0 game with Indians). Their bullpen with Rivera has been stellar but the top 3 pitchers in AL are all Yankee relievers including Rivera, I think this bullpen has been overused and it will show. I truly think Red Sox will overtake Yanks and Yanks may fold to Oakland or Anaheim if not careful for wild card. Yanks wont make series!

In regards to your Cubs, it simply isn't their year. I still have the utmost respect for this team but if they face the Cards in playoffs, they will have a mental breakdown. Cards win in 5 or sweep. Prior and Wood have not pitched well, Maddux has only pitched 4 or 5 times against Birds, Zambrano will bean Edmonds again or simply lose it, and the pitcher with most success vs Birds is Clement who is hurt. Bullpen? R u kidding me! Cubs will win it but it won't be this year!

Congrats on the being the best regular season team, but we'll see if the posteseason is a different game. Last year's Braves and Giants were gular season chmapions as well. The Mariners a couple years ago were the best regular season team I've ever seen. Didn't get them too far.
