Considering they want to avoid us REFRESHING until our fingers fall off, this is an interesting move.

Maybe the hurricane has caused problems?

I really do not know, but I agree with your point.

I think someone got a little angry and made them pull it down... But there is always the possibility that I am wrong.

GJ Mike rubs me the wrong way (all schill, all attitude, all the time). But if Pinnicle pulled their XML feed because Don Best asked them too, I guess I can see where he is coming from. Would be UNFCUKING BELIEVABLE.

GJMike must have a some pull over at GJ because if he doesn't, then his boss either doesn't know how he represents his company in the forum or must really be an azz himself.

Pinnacle is screwing over more than GJ with this. If this is more than a tech issue, which I would have to think it is since it has been down for so long. They are thinking really short term if they are giving up on XML. They are going to be blocking IPs like crazy with people refreshing and running spiders directly off their html pages.

How do I represent the company? By trying to tell the truth? Your comments are so overly biased that they are borderline ridiculous. I am so sick of the lies and deception that I will speak up wherever/whenever appropriate.

If I rub you the wrong way I am sorry. But you have to know that I have to make my points quickly as they are deleted in record time. You cant login to this site in under 5 minutes but my threads can dissapear in nano-seconds. Even though I havent put a link in one of my posts since day 1.

The post I made yesterday To Don Best..., which by the way is now in The Rubber Room, had to be done on this forum. Yes, i could have called... but there is a reason I didnt. the first thing DB will do when he sees skybook, grande, pinnacle, rio, and others on our screen is call the books and tell them to take their feed away from us (much like you saw with their XML feed). So I needed to let him, and the books know that its not their decision to make anymore. The books want to be on our screen, in fact we got 3 emails yesterday that said 'dont forget to steal our lines too'

By bringing it to the forums, and letting people see what happens is the only way to get things done. Hopefully now there will be no choice to put your XML feed back up so you can go on about your business. If you pull these business practices out of the shadow enough maybe you can give the power back to the players and the books. They will have to think really hard about reversing this move of pulling down the XML feed.

Mike,
Are you saying that you stole the Pinny feed for GJ's own use without permission?
Is that this gist of this?

If so, no fuking wonder they took it down. You've hurt alot of people proving your point - including 75,000 RXer requests that used our FREE lines yesterday.

If I got the story wrong - my appologies.

My understand is that anyone can use Pinnacle XML feed, BUT I would think that you can't resell it. But I am not ever sure they have that condition in their T&C. So I don't know that it is possible to steal.

No, Pinny promised us a feed. We dont even get our lines from that XML feed. That is why when it is down here, it is still popping nice and crisp on our service.

What I am saying (and I dont know this for fact, just speculation which could be totally wrong) Is once certain people saw some good advice of people saying hire a cheap indian to write you a quick feed off pinny's lines, a certain party saw it chopping into their bottom line and canned that idea. Total speculation that it happened this time, but it happens to us on a daily basis. No book comes on our service without getting pressured like no other from DB. Thats the truth. If people making their own personal feeds threaten him too, I dont see why he would just stop at us.

None needed, it will be interesting to see if they reverse their approach on this now.

It could be some sort of server glitch or something, but our feed and the rest of the site seem to be working fine. The old XML feed was on the same IP address which is still working fine. So it was pulled for some reason.

Mike,
I know they wanted people to start using the "delta feeds" ?last=xxxxxxxxxxxxx (last time of pull).

We have not implemented that for obvious reasons (I didn't think 2 days of testing was sufficient) ...

anywho, seems like they've been tinkering with the feed somewhat ...

so perhaps it is just technical problems?

Yea, you could be right. In fact, I was looking at it when it did work, and I dont think the lastUpdate option worked. Hopefully you are right. But on the other hand, on the small chance I was right, maybe it will stir them up enough to put it back also. Either way the ultimate goal is for you to get your feed back.
