ARE YOU SERIOUS?

I cooked my own egg by touting this to much in this forum in attempt to be a nice guy.

Too bad. BTW it a $1K per team, not per combination.

Fish,

Most sports books are willing to take at least 5k and upwards on teasers...

The fact that they won't is wimpy indeed...

Some in NYC used to take 10 dimes plus, some even allowed open-enders..unsure about today?

Don't they know that the majority of teaser-bettors are gonna come up Donut and Bagel in the long haul?

Must be the fear that Phish-followers would all bang them with same play en-masse all year?

You do tend to open your yap too much about stuff that shouldn't be made public.

Maybe you'll learn from it.

I disagree
This forum is to share info about the offshore books..Fish pointing out that their 7 pt teasers is really 7.5 teasers [since ties win].
The 1k limit will not really effect the 95% of the posters in this forum.I am a $200 to $500 player.I love betting on the 7 point teaser with teams getting +3 or +7 or +10
I never thanked fishhead for this info..so i am doing it with this post.
To the highrollers that the 1k limit affects,I do think it sucks for you.
But the info did help me...And now it is on their homepage anyway
Thank you ...FISHHEAD

Every book I have bet at has a dime limit on teasers but they have never objected when I bet the same teaser again and again.

Good Point Chuck I have done the same thing on limits...Do the books have an out though if they decide to use that against us...saying we over bet the limit?

I have called Olympic on this and they say its ok as long as they take it online, its a bet.

MR TEASER PCI REVAMPED THEIR TEASER OPTIONS ((WITH STUFF LIKE "TIES WIN" AND MONSTER & SWEETHEART TEASERS)) IT LOOKS LIKE A DIRECT RIPOFF OF ABC BUT NONETHELESS YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET DOWN THERE FOR MUCH MORE THAN A DIME.

I was saddened by the reduction, but only due to selfish reasons. From a bookmaking point of view, it was a very intelligent decision. A book can't sustain itself with virtually no limits on plays with 16%-ish player EV (and higher in preseason). 1k/team limits won't hurt squares - it's mainly sharps that play the round-robin teasers with "wise-guy" plays.
I'd venture that most of the smaller plays will still lose their shirts teasing.

Survey question: How many of you squares will tease New England from -8 to -2?

daringly, I don't agree that is a square play. I'm well aware of the dichotomy with road favs in that range as opposed to home faves. But teasing it down (I did it to -1/2) in a -110 teaser is like parlaying the Pats ML at -260. That is not quare. Betting the ML -350...now THAT is square. Even as far as the game goes, trends or no trends, I don't believe AZ has more than a 27.8% chance to beat NE, regardless of where they play.

NFL and AFL moneylines get dorked as you move to the extremes. A 17-pt road favorite in NFL should only be about a -380(novig) favorite. That 17-pt home favorite would be about -700. This disparity isn't as pronounced at -7x, but it is still significant.

What percent of 7x road favorites win? Now compare to the percent of 7x home favorites that win. It will blow you away.

Teasing "wise-guy" road favorites will lose you money long-term. Historically, they cover their leg much less than 70%, a far-cry from the 72.5% you need to break even on a retail teaser.
