If your using a avatar from the web:

Right click on the avatar, choose a folder to save to. My documents folder is easy place to find it, name the file, then click save. Open up Paintshop by going to Start > Programs >Accessories > Paint. In Paintshop click open, then get your avatar from the folder you saved to and click it. Your avatar will appear in Paintshop. Next click image tab, > click attributes, a box will appear with the dimensions of the avatar, you can change the size of the avatar right there, then click ok. Now go and save the new avatar as a new name or you can save right over the old size by clicking file then save.

If your using a avatar from your computer:

just goto Paintshop and change the size, then change the name or override the old file. (as directed above)

To post the new avatar here, click User CP TOP left corner after you log in. Click edit Avatar; there's a spot for avatars that are uploaded to the web and a spot for those that are not (these are just saved to your computer) choose accordingly. Click save changes at the bottum after you've inserted your avatar into the appropriate box.

Easy right? :aktion033 :heh:

Cheater, nice tips.........But, the problem so far is not the "file size" in posting some avatars, such as this one..........

Meant to say the problem IS the file size of some avatars, in not being able to use them. Are we going to be able to delete posts if we are not allowed to edit them after 5 minutes?

miracle_worker, I had no problem using the pic of Barry Sanders you have.

You can change the file size of many pic/avatars by simply saving (save as, choose gif) them to another formatt(GIF, JPEG, BITMAP) in Paint or another photo application, example: changing your Barry Sanders from a Bitmap file to a GIF file shaved it from 4.8kb to 4.7.. not much of a difference but when you have a bigger avatar 100 by 100 it will make all the difference..

miracle_worker, I made the B.Sanders avatar bigger and tried to enhance it a bit, it's still a little fuzzy.. Is that the avatar you wanted?

Anything animated is just too large right now Cheater for the current forum settings. Not sure if they can be changed at this site or not. If so, mods should find it in similar are as old site when they upgraded the size of avatars.......
