Everyone is talking about Bonds and Beltre out west and the three players for the Cardinals in Pujols, Edmonds, and Rolen but to me the NL MVP is the tandem of Tony Larussa and Walt Jocketty. In the offseason, Jocketty with no ability to add payroll put together what end up might being the best team in NL History. Larussa then molded this team and got them focused on the goal of proving the experts wrong. Larussa was stung quite a bit when they called the Cards soft last year after the 5 game series in Chicago and then the 3 games in Houston. His team was prepared in the most important place ..... mentally. These two men are the real MVP's this year and for those who doubt these Cards will at least make the World Series, think again. Even after the Cards had mathmatically clinched last Saturday, he wouldn't recognize it until Cards won on the field which turned out to be Monday in Milwaukee. This team has had a few injuries and Tony has rested starters for about 3 weeks, but believe me when I say this team is prepared for all comers in the NL. I even think they may want to see the Cubs in NL Championship to prove it once again to all those doubters. Once again, Congrats to Walt Jocketty and Tony Larussa, who imo are the CO MVP'S IN THE NL and maybe in a month all of baseball!

Theres A Written Rule In The National League That States (we Will Not Give The M.v.p. To A Garlic Snapper No Italians Win The Award Over Here In The National League The Commitee Was Heard Saying. Let The Garlic Snappers Have There Joe Dimagio, sal Bandos, joe Pepertones No Italians Win Mvp Awards In The National League So Tony Larussa Is Out Unless He Buys The Pizza's Then They Might Make An Exception.jesus Christ These Italians Want Everything Tony Larussa Sucked As A Ball Player And As A Lawyer Personally I Even Think He Sucks As A Coach The Cardinals Will Be Out In The First Round Because The Garlic Snapper Will Panic And Mis Read His Scorecard.you Cant Have A Smart Italian Manager Unless There Is An Irish Guy Next To Him To Give Him The Orders So I Presume Tony Has An Irishman As His Assistant.

When Jocketty and Larussa prove they can still hit a fastball or strike out Bonds, then they will win the award

If they give it to Beltre it will only be because the voters get tired of giving it to Bonds. Bonds' OPS is in the frickin stratosphere at 1.449, more than 300 points ahead of the nearest player in the majors! As good as he was the last couple of years, he is just that much better this year. A .615 on-base percentage is flat out sick. Imagine that, more than 6 times out of 10 when Bonds comes to the plate he will either get on base or hit one out. And for those that just look at old-fashioned batting average he is almost 30 points ahead of the NL competition. That is absolutely incredible and should hands down win another MVP. If the stats aren't enough, just think is there anyone else in the game that comes even close to putting fear into the opponents manager than Barry?

Nothing against Pujols, Rolen, or Beltre who are having fine years. But Barry Bonds is the only choice in my opinion. His numbers are absolutely incredible.

No player in baseball history (Ruth included) has been feared as near as much as Bonds. Any writer who doesn't vote for him should have their priveleges revoked.
