I love the under in this game. Let's not forget who the coaches are: Gibbs and Parcels. These are the two men who invented what was termed the NFC "Ball Control" offense back in the 1980s. If either team has a touchdown lead or more going into the fourth quarter, expect the offensive flow to slow considerably for the team that is ahead. Back when Gibbs had "the Hogs" for an offensive line and a lead in the 4th, they ran what they called the Riggo drill, handing the ball off to Riggins for an almost certain 3 to 4 yard gain. They would pass the ball maybe once in a series, just to keep the defense honest, but otherwise it was Riggo up the middle for four yards, another first down, and a possesion that ran 9 minutes off the clock.

Granted, neither coach has the personnel today to fully execute this plan with such precision, but the coaching concept is very sound and I expect either coach to employ this tactic in the second half to protect a lead. For the average, fan this may be a boring game with a low score and not a lot of offensive verve, especially in the second half. My logic also says take the second half under if either team has an 8 point lead or more at halftime.

Best of luck everyone !!

I loved the over, but if its downpouring by the second qtr that concerns me...some rain is one thing, too much and its run run run...

Was-1...Better running back in the rain...I think Was poor showing vs New York has kept this from being a minus 3 spread...Wash will not have 7 To's again tonight...

JMan:

Take note of the thread in the NFL Forum on weather update in DC. Now currently calling for no rain until midnight EST.

Ok thanks...i know how the weathermen can really mess with us , they have no idea when these storms are going to get here...I will stick with my over play now...I figure this , if the game is going accordingly and the weather becomes an issue I can get out at halftime...I really liked the over here til this storm came a calling...

I dont know, I really liked dallas at first becuase wash whipped on tampa some but tampa is an 0-3 team and then I see wash turn around and get beat soundly by the giants and i figure dallas has a better defense plus more talent at WR with glenn and keyshawn but you figure new york has a better RB in barber and probably a better qb too. the thing thats keeping me from taking dal is that wash had 7 turnovers vs new york i mean are the skins really going to have another crappy game like that at home?

plus i think parcells has beat gibbs 6 straight or something but that was like 14 years ago.

im thinking wash. . .as stated above RB advantage plus how can you ignore the fact the giants are playing well but they could only beat wash by 6 at home even though they forced 7 turnovers?!

good call judge and other dallas backers. I think I had everything figured out except the "when own the skins factor" I seemed to overlook that one important fact

I said it in the NFL thread and I'm saying it here. If the Eagles lose a divisional game this year I will be VERY UNHAPPY. :)
