If you had a future on Philly or Pitts ov/un whatever number of wins, and Wednesday's game gets rained out in Philly, for example. They won't make it up right ? Why bother ?

I've never bet a wins total in bases. It sucks to lock-up funds that long, even worse have a winner nullified after 6 months. Is that how it works ?

MOST books require a minimum of 160 games played - NOT 162 - so unless a few more games get rained out - it appears all win totals plays on the 2 teams will still be valid ones.

Winky is correct and very seldon has a over and under ever been canceled because less than 160 games have been played. The baseball strike or something more of that magnitude can always happen. I believe over and unders are by far the easiest avenue to beat the books and most bookmakers will also admit this. However, if you don't have the patience to tie up your $$ for 6 months or so... stay away.

Fish,
I have the Bucs under 9 1/2 wins at Pinnacle
I also have Seattle over 8 1/2 wins
Rams under 9 1/2 wins
Dolphins under 9 wins
Some of these bets have to be made early as the totals change sometimes within hours of a major injury or defection like Williams for Miami. My { sweat bet right now in Baseball is Yanks over 981/2 ! I need 2 more wins with 6 games left. What some people don't pay attention to is that if the total remains in doubt going into the last series, one can cover by making a wager on the opposing team like I can bet on Totonto to win series this weekend. I hate to throw away any profit but I am tempted to make a wager on Minn. sweep of todays dh.
Teddy Sewransky of Who Covers here in Las Vegas went a documented 10-0 in Pro football over and unders last year and is 23-3 in the last 3 years just to show how easy totals are to beat by the Pro's. I usually do very well but seldon bet that many teams. My biggest loser this year is in baseball with a wager on the S.F. Giants under 85 1/2. This team is doing it with mirrors ?

i am about to get screwed on my devil rays over 68.5 wins. not only did they blow two leads over 3 runs or more the last two days but, the sunday game against toronto was cancelled due to the hurricane and will not be made up.

thank goodness i have the cubs under 94 wins to make up for it.

This is precisely why I always look to go UNDER in these types of wagers.

Blue,
That's when these rainouts kill you as late in the season if the games mean nothing to deciding a race, the games aren't made up. If the dh in NY is rained out today, I could be up against the same fate as your Tampa Bay. Good luck !

At Carib there is no minimum games to be played. The bet is paid off as soon as it wins. Like my Det Total Wins Under bet of last year was paid in August.

I think that at both 5Dimes and Intertops they changed the required number of games from 160 to 159. Certainly favors the under.

However, when the Marlins total was put up at 80' I jumped on the over and waiting to get paid as soon as it becomes official.

Here in Las Vegas, I know of no sportsbook that will pay off until the season is officially over

Thank you Intertops. They paid up on the MLB season totals now that the season became official today. Thanks for not making me wait until Sunday night.

I was worried about my Brewers over 65 and a hook but I finally got it. Now lets go after my Orioles + 79 1/2. Generally betting these totals are my biggest profits and I don't mind letting my money sit for a few months. No different then letting a good stock sit for awhile. Same principle
