Would u guys be interested in playing the "getting to know your team" NBA contest again this year?
I know its football season right now, but the NBA season isnt that far away, and if we do this, we have to start at the beginning to have enough time for all the rounds...
If anyone has forgotten, this is the contest where you draw a team, and keep the same team for the entire season......u simply cap "your" team each day against the pointspreads posted......if you win u get a win, if u lose you get a loss.....after 20 games or so we go to the playoffs...just like int he NBA, top 8 in each conference by seeds......then go round by round, headsup.....This was alot of fun last year, and we even had a matchplay bonus for guessing the exact points your team would score that night......
We could either run this as a 100.00 entry fee, or last year i believe it was send 200.00 to the book, and u could play with it, but they put up prizes....
I can ask either way.....we need the prize pool to be like last year...
WE pay back some money to each who get to playoffs 16 posters (100.00) each, then another 200.00 for the 8 that advance to 2cnd round, then another 300.00 for the 4 that advance to conference finals...another 400.00 for the 2 that advance to finals, and another 800.00 for the winner....
Thats a 6000.00 prize pool.....there are 30 players, so 100.00 each player, matched by the book, makes the pool.....or if 30 send 200.00 they might give us the prize pool, and let us play with the funds.....
Anyway, i need to see if we have 30 people interested, and then i will approach a few advertisers....I have some that have inquired about contests, so i think we can find a sponsor......I will use a good book, i just need to know if there is interest....
I know NBA isnt the prime sport right now, but it was the same last year, and by the time we get it rolling along into the contest playoffs, the NFL will almost be over.....
please let me know in this thread, if you are interested.....would start in early November......
