Batting Ave.: Ichiro vs. Bonds

Ichiro -155
Bonds +125

Bonds currently has 366 AB and 134 hits for a .366 average.
Ichiro currently has 685 AB and 255 hits for a .372 average.

Both hitters have 4 games left. Bonds is currently averaging 2.5 AB per game so I figure he will get 10 more AB's this season. He will have to get hits in 6 out of those 10 in order to get to .372 (provided Ichiro stays at that average). The Giants face the Dodgers which is a team with good pitching. Can Bonds go 6 out of 10 if Ichiro stays at his level?

My money is on Ichiro.

Update from 9-30-04:

Bonds got 1 hit in 4 AB.
Suzuki got 1 hit in 5 AB.

Bonds now has 370 AB's and 135 hits for a .365 average.
Suzuki now has 690 AB's and 256 hits for a .371 average.

If Bonds has 9 more AB's in the 3-game series with the Dodgers and Ichiro ends up with .370, Bonds will have to have 5 hits out of those 9 AB's to pass Ichiro.

Suzuki got 3 hits in 5 AB's.

Bonds now has 371 AB's and 135 hits for a .364 average.
Suzuki now has 695 AB's and 259 hits for a .373 average.

Bonds now has 372 AB's and 135 hits for a .363 average.
Suzuki now has 700 AB's and 260 hits for a .371 average.

One more game to go. If Ichiro goes 0 for 5, Bonds would have to go 4 for 4 to have a higher average.

No...I was going to head down Friday and Saturday...but the free tickets I had an opportunity to get fell through and I'm not big enough into watching golf to pay $ to watch it.

Went the last time played there. Loved the place. Vendor had corp tent off 10 tee box. Jigger draft beer served in pub was great. Lived Spotted Cow also and they send me a case every now and then
