I have had the opportunity of meeting the main principals behind this sports book, plus I had a friend of mine open an account there recently. The Customer Service turned out to be outstanding, and the amount of time it took to receive a payout was fast.

If you are looking for a sports book that shades its lines a tad towards the favorites and is very friendly for recreational gamblers, this is the place for you...

However, if you are a WISE GUY, they don't want you and you won't last very long there...

SS,

If you are a MOVER or a steam chaser, they don't want you. Shopping for lines does not by itself, make you a wise guy....

SHRINK, it seems like a silly thing to announce to me...

HOWEVER,

as long as they PAY UP & then ask you politely to leave, I guess there is no problem with that....

Is that how they would handle it?

Agreed Ken. Their linesmaker is one of the most likeable people out there with an impeccable record of honesty. Good option for recreational players.

SS to be honest its not so silly it saves the hardcore wiseguys the time of trying ....the majority are not wiseguys IMO and are rec. gamblers so they would have no problem if they win

If you post a bet BOOK IT....

If you dont want to take a Bet... DONT BOOK IT....

If you are worried about WISE GUYS & only want recreational Gamblers, it is Simple... Lower Limits to such a level as to Discourage Wise Guys..... (ie SIA).....

At the end of the Day, HOWEVER, if you want to boot a customer due to the fact that you do not like the way they are betting... AS long as you pay promptly & do it with a smile.... Then that is fine...

It is too much of a Fine Line... & IS (IMHO) SILLY....

Thank you lander, at least there is someone else out there with some common sense.:aktion033 & who is more worried about the player than the book.

SS, don't take it wrong sir but I tend to like books that have conservative lines over books ( newly or recently established ) that take any kind of action, and this on a player's prospective. Its not about making the book rich, its about making sure that the book doesn't gamble and goes broke, leaving a wake of blood and a number of stiffed players behind. In this prospective these latest arrivals on the market, like MyBookie and BCN Sports, with the sole exception of playASAP which keeps giving me some bad vibes, have to be respected for their conservative approach. The times of books starting up giving the store away and welcoming all the wiseguys are over. Last case was Betpanam, which has left deep scars in this Industry, some of which are being interpreted in a positive way by regarding the history of that fiasco as a list of "what not to do".

My two cents....

I was going to post up there because they sent me a brochure that said

"As a loyal member you will be given your own Mybookie.com debit card. This card can be used at your local ATM for instant payouts guaranteed at no cost to you."

But i looked everywhere on there site and found no mention of this so I decided not to play there. If your going to advertise something to a player make sure you have that option.

By the way if anybody knows a book that has a debit card to get your payouts on please let me know. Yes i know about prepaid atm but I lost all my information for it and there customer service was making it impossible for me to get so i stopped trying.

I Understand TOW, but to say "We Do Not want Wise Guys" is too much of a grey area... Am I a wise guy? Is Fishhead one? what about the SHRINK? or Sick Gambler? It doesnt make any sense....

The better way to run your business IMO, is to simply make sure that your numbers are SHARP & Limit the amount that can be bet on any one game at any one time.... A possible suggestion would be to limit INTERNET betting to 500$ or 1000$ or whatever they are comfortable with & require players to call in to place larger WAGERS....

This Statement "We do not want WISEGUY's" is open to various type's of interpretation & can cauz many problems... It also leave's open the bookies to have an excuse not to pay customers or not to pay them in a timely fashion.... They could turn around & say...

"We said we didnt want wiseguys but you are a wiseguy & you won so we will not Pay you"

It is a very General statement which IMO does not mean Much....
I would like MYBOOKIE to come into this thread & comment on all of this....
As long as their policy is that ALL GAMBLERS will be paid & if they do not want their action they will simply be asked to leave.... THEN I have no problem with that....
But dont POST lines & then Cry foul if someone bets into those lines.... RIDICULOUS.... What they are essentially saying is they do not want anyone to win but they still want the right to take BIG BETS from 'SQUARES'....
Cant have it Both ways.... sorry (that is my opinion)....
I emphasize though I have no problem with them booting players for winning or betting in a 'WISEGUY' fashion..... as long as the PINK SLIP is given with a smile & the customer is paid in FULL....
To be honest I am sick & tired of these 'supposed' watchdog sites looking out for the BOOKIES & not worrying about the PLAYERS....

SS, I understand your point and agree that wording should be more specific. I believe that the "warning" is primarily for movers and steam chasers. I know how frustrating is for bookies to take action a few seconds before the screen goes black.....albeit that is the way to identify the players you don't want, unless you have a wide enough customer base ( 3000+ ) that you can use to blend in that kind of action without being hurt.

Knowing some of the people behind MyBookie I believe that they would not "rape" the wiseguy but rather show him the door making sure he has his money in his pockets. Same applies for BCN Sports, according to the first feedbacks i have received from a couple of superwise who have signed up, given action and been gently but firmly shown the door with all their money in their netellers within seconds from their request.

If a book pays you and says bye, then that is fine. If they steal from you and then boot you, I see a problem. The rest of this is rubbish. Understanding your weaknesses and trying to deter them from happening is good business.

Right General. You have ( unfortunately ) matured a huge experience in assisting players affected by slow pays / no pays. Most players are unaware that these problems occur on daily basis and concern a number of small / medium size operations that utilize the "anti-wiseguy" clause to try to rip players off their winnings or worse stiff them.

I read on the forums every now and then complains about VIP Sports, and these complains primarily concern accounts whose limits have been narrowed down to $ 50. Few highlight the fact that operations like VIP do honor winnings and pay, aside of running a very tight ship. Same applies to Bodog, to mention an RX book. Bottomline these tight ships PAY. That's what really matter at the end of the day.

TOW since you seem to know alot about the company could you tell me why they advertise an atm card for withdrawals when they don't have that option.

See my post about books that take lower limits, and don't want a lot of late money.

Unless they are offering something above and beyond any other book why are people still looking to try these new books out?

IMO new books don't really have a chance, especially with so many well established books around. If they aren't going to cater to guys that can't bet elsewhere, or offer lines or odds that are better than most (which is a catch -22 actually) then why bother/take the chance?

Not to mention, that if I had insurance on every book that was run by 'stand up guys with deep pockets' that was out of business within 6 months that was touted on here, I wouldn't need to gamble anyways.
