And I don't even know what happened because I can't find a boxscore anywhere.

All I know is

1) I had a HUGE play on Fla Atl +8
2) the game was tied 34-34 with about 2 minutes to go, and I am 99.99999% assured of winning this bet.
3) Lafayette goes up 37-34 with 20 seconds to go and I am 99.99999999999999999999999999999999999999% assured of winning this bet.
4) I check the final score and it is 43-34 Lafayette, making me lose by 1 point! Somehow lightning stuck me! :heh:

WTF HAPPENED? ANYBODY???

Don Best has confirmed the score ... UL LAFAYETTE 43-34.

Yahoo Sports has the score UL LAFAYETTE 46-41.

I trust DBS way more than I trust Yahoo Sports, but I wonder why the different scores? Something obviously happened at the end of the game ...

not sure you will be able to find a box score on that game. it sucks that game info for division 1 AA games are so hard to find. some are pretty good games too.

Right there is the reason for the 9 point win a late INT for a TD.

Here's exactly what happened as I watched the game.
La-La kicks a field goal with 29 secs left to go up 37-34.
Fla. INT'L (NOT Fla. Atl. as some of you are confused) went into a hurry up to try and get in field goal range.
The QB throws a wide out and Cajun defender steps in front to pick it off and runs it in with 11 seconds left. He slips on the track and gets hurt causing a short delay.
Then the coach makes a nice call and instead of kicking xp, he kneels on ball. (Remember if they block it and run it back it's 43-36, a one score game. Instead it's a 9 point spread, two scores and insurmountable. They kick off and game ends.
The truly horrible beat would have been if you had laid 9.5 and because they didn't kick it, they chose to kneel on it.

<TABLE width=603 border=0><TBODY><TR><TD>Louisiana-Lafayette 43, Florida International 34

By Associated Press, 10/2/2004 22:09

<WIRE_BODY>MIAMI (AP) Sean Comiskey's 41-yard field goal with 25 seconds left broke a tie, and Antwain Spann's interception return for another late score capped Louisiana-Lafayette's 43-34 victory over Florida International on Saturday night.

Comiskey's kick came on a drive where the Rajun' Cajuns were stopped near midfield and elected to punt, but Florida International was flagged for having 12 players on the field and the five yards were just enough to provide Louisiana-Lafayette (3-2) with a first down.

Jerry Babb completed 30 of 42 passes for 302 yards and a touchdown for Louisiana-Lafayette (3-2), and Dwight Lindon rushed for 66 yards and a pair of scores.

Josh Padrick threw for 265 yards and two touchdowns for Florida International (1-1), which hadn't played since winning at Youngstown State on Sept. 10. The Golden Panthers had one game postponed and another canceled because of the flurry of hurricanes that have hit Florida in recent weeks.

Louisiana-Lafayette held off three second-half comebacks by Florida International, which was playing its first game against a Division I-A opponent.

The Golden Panthers trailed 24-17 at halftime, but Harold Leath made a diving catch of a Padrick pass in the back of the end zone to tie the game at 24. The teams then traded field goals before Lindon scored his second touchdown on a 5-yard run with 5:04 left.

Less than three minutes later, Rashod Smith scored on a 1-yard burst, tying the game again at 34. Smith had 94 yards on 28 carries for Florida International, but Comiskey's third field goal of the night put his team ahead to stay.

Louisiana-Lafayette outgained Florida International 445-347. </WIRE_BODY>
