When was the last time the total was at 11.5 with Maddux pitching (other than at Coors)? Granted, this is the last game of the season and Maddux has been roughed-up a couple times in the last few games. These are 2 respectable pitchers. Do they not put in a good effort here?
Randy Johnson pitched for the Dbacks last night and put in a good effort. It seems even at this stage of the season he pitches for pride. I'm thinking Maddux will too.
