MLB : 2* YANKEES<?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = O />

The Twins were out-hit 9-7 last night in Game 1 of the AL Divisional Series. The Yankees stranded 17 runners and hit into a division record 5 double plays. Bernie Williams has the most post-season experience of anyone out there but he stranded 4 teammates on his own.

The only good news for NY was the 2 hits apiece recorded by A-Rod, Jorge Posada and Hideki Matsui. They also got a masterful performance from Mike Mussina who struck out 7 thru 7 IP. NY has now dropped 3 of their last 4 games and there is no way they can go down 2-0 at home.

They are 27-7 this season as a chalk of -150 to -200 and still own a 20-4 record the last 3 years in this series including a 10-2 record at home. They’ve won 7 straight and 9 of 10 with John Lieber who is 3-0 L/T and is also 11-3 with a 3.68 ERA at home.

<?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = ST1 />Minnesota has won 3 of their last 4 games now and will go with Brad Radke tonight. They are 7-8 with the right-hander on the road and they’ve lost 9 of 12 with him in this series. The Twins have also lost 3 straight with Radke.
