Considering stats as a duo i think it's between Magic/Kareem and Stockton/Malone.

Don't just consider statistics when voting on this poll, but the impact the pair had on the NBA as well.

I think It comes down to Bird/McHale & Magic/Kareem. In my opinion, Magic & Kareem had a little more help on those Lakers teams than Boston did, so I go with Bird and the greatest post up player in NBA history....McHale.

The Jordan combeck story was mostly rumor and wishfull thinking by fans.

MIAMI — Michael Jordan won't be joining the Miami Heat or any other NBA team this season, according to Estee Portnoy, his Washington, D.C.-based spokeswoman.

"Absolutely not," she said Thursday of the 41-year-old legend making a third comeback. "No story there. Wishful thinking from fans must have gotten out of control."

Discussion of Jordan possibly joining the Heat to play alongside newly acquired center Shaquille O'Neal began Wednesday with a brief item in The Denver Post. It said that there was talk around the league that Jordan, attracted by the possibility of playing with O'Neal, was working out with a comeback in mind.

"He played basketball twice in some pickup games with some friends that included some current and former (NBA) players," Portnoy said.

Heat president Pat Riley said he hasn't spoken with Jordan and that neither he nor Jordan had made even a telephone call to one another regarding a comeback.

"It's typical of the NBA rumor, gobbledygook, media-spin thing," Riley said of the rumor. "That's all it is. It starts with somebody assuming something and then it goes to these writers on these radio shows now and it just continues to spiral until it becomes a fact. And it's not a fact.

"If Michael Jordan ever called me I would take his call out of absolute respect, but that hasn't happened."

West/Baylor
Wil, I agree, back in the day they were may have been the best, even though thats a little before my time..........BUT....... I don't think they measure up to some of the duos of this era. Im a firm believer that NBA & NFL players of yester~year could not match up with todays. In baseball, maybe so, but not the two sports above..........

If Drexler and Hakeem played their whole careers together it may have been worthy of top consideration...

I will take the Sky Hook and the Magic Man....

Hache I am basing my choice on some intangible things like impact on the NBA. Elgin Baylor was the proto-type for Jordan and West the first do it all big guard ala Magic Johnson. Together they nearly dethroned the great Celtic teams of their era.

Jordan/Pippen, but then it could be Jordan/Brad Sellers and I would vote for them.

Titles aside, I would vote Stockton/Malone

Stockton ans Malone were never given much help....Jeff Hornacek was a nice fit, but one dimensional (no defense)...The Jazz mgt never gave them much help...Malone , its a shame he's being looked at now like a chump...Malone could run the floor like no other power foward, great hands and IMO the best power forward ever.

Hornacek was awesome J~Man, could shoot the lights out hugh? All they needed was the one above average rebounder/shot-blocker in the middle and they could of won at least one.

Hache...Hornacek really was a damn good player in his Utah years especially...The Jazz were very close, leading with the ball, when Jordan stripped Malone in the final minute of game 6 about to tie up the series...:drink:
