Yesterday I win my 5* and 2 of 3 4*'s. Here are todays plays.
5* NYY
Yankees have the best home record in AL and are 16-4 versus MN last 20. Lieber is 12-3 at home and the team is 18-9 overall when he starts. He's also 4-0 lifetime vs Mn and has given up 2.5 earned runs/gm last 10. Twins went 17-17 when Radtke pitched this year and 7-8 away. He's 3-7 vs NY since 99. Yanks have lost gm 1 of five straight ALDS and have gone on to win five of those series with only one game two loss in the bunch. Leiber is 3-0 last 3 and Radtke is 0-3.
5* NYY under 4.5 1st 5 innings
Radtke has given up 3 runs or less in 9 of his last 10 starts, including 4 of 5 vs NY and Lieber has been solid as mentioned above.
5* NYY under 9
I like this play the best of all today.
4* Hous
How can you go against the hot Houston, let alone "The Rocket"? Houston is 28-7 l35, 9-0 Clements l9 starts, road team took 2 of 3 this yr, Hous was 23-10 when RC pitched and he's 7-2 in day games. Atlanta is only 10-6 with Wright at h and he's 3-3 in day gms.
Notes of interest: RC's era last 3 is 1.69 and GW's is 2.16. 4 of 6 games between these two have gone under. Wright has given up 3 runs or less in 8 of his l10 starts. RC has given up 4+ runs in 5 of his l10 but only 1 of his last 5 and the four others he gave up 0,0,1,1. I look for an under but can't give it as a play.
3* Bos under 9-120
You are probably thinking I'm crazy but here's my reasons. Martinez has given up 2 runs or less vs Ana 9 of the l10 he's faced them. He's averaging 3 runs/gm in his last 10 starts and that includes giving up 6, 5, and 8 runs in his l3. Colon has given up 2.81 runs per start vs Bos l11 and 2.9 his l10 overall. The stat the makes it a play is the umpire Meals is 7-3 to the under when he umps Ana and is 21 unders compared to 14 overs all year. Look for a BIG strike zone tonight keeping this one under the total.
Notes of interest: Bos is 7-10 on the rd this yr w/Martinez and just 19-14 overall when he throws. Meanwhile, Ana is 21-13 w/Colon on the mound and 12-8 at h. However, Martinez is 8-2 vs Ana since 99 and Colon is 7-10 vs Bos since 99. I still look for a tied up series tonight with an Anahiem win.
