Lets say that the best number that you can find is at a book that you already have a decent position the other way at. Would you still bet there? Basically having both sides at good numbers at the same book. Same scenario for a middle?

A book with any credibility should have no problem with that............fire away.

Shouldn't matter - if a book hangs a number then they are looking for action on it at either side from anyone in their customer pool. All part of the chart for that particular game.

...and unless they run programmes or check your action when cashing out they won't even know.

Thanks for the input, I have always been a little hesitant to do so. I guess for no reason.

scalps

:howdy: Just play the value side. So you take the free roll - put 1100 with SIA and it doesn't hit - you don't make a dime. Do it 20 times you might net 4k. If you bury SIA for 10 K they will kick you out.

You are better off just betting 2-300 and you can play value there forever? Ala Golden Goose theory???

If you win they are going to kick you out anyway,
unless they change their policy. Betting smaller
amounts may only prolong the inevitable.

If you have a good relationship with the book, call them (or email).

This actually happened to me and the book in question said they definitely frowned upon this practice (if you have a positive scalp, not looking to hedge one side even the other side a loss)

just one mans opinion and history

Big difference ...

Its ALL gravy if you beat them without middling/scalping.

Scalping/ middling the same book ? Some will object, but shouldn't. You risked line moving against. Pinny should be OK. It's a grey area. I'd be careful unless you know the book well. Most of these bets will occur against competing books, so no problem.

I have done it at Pinnacle for a couple years and they have not said word one about it. Not an email, not a block, not a limit, nothing. But as discussed on here many many times my feeling on them is they are loooking for the scalp action anyways, so if they have to eat a few inside plays so be it as long as they get enough action elsewhere. Basically they are payong you money not to bet the game there. A lot cheaper for them, expecially if you buy back off winners all the time. That might also have something to do with it as well. Buty I have never really tracked them for some unknown reason. How many winners I would have had if I had not bought back I mean.

Here we go again! I am so disappointed in the RX! I thought this site only had real punters!

Anyhow for those that like scalping, there is one site that encourages you to do so. It is called BetFair. I have been trying to explain to them for the past month that they are missing out a lot by allowing this to happen, but still no changes in their commission structure, so for all you guys: Go and scalp on that site. There is no better place!
