I didn't get a chance to watch the game, but after only 88 pitches you bring in your closer in the 7th??? Sure, he gave up 2 consecutive hits, but come on. Was he getting hit hard throughout the game? Let him finish up the 7th and it's a different ballgame. Lidge pitched in and out of trouble for 3 innings. Stros were lucky to even have a shot in the late innings. Just feel that Oswalt is the man and should have been left to finish off that inning unless of course he was getting hit or was missing badly with pitches. Final boxscore indicates he pitched well enough to stay in the game. Recap please.

Nice win to all you Atl backers, I lost big on the Stros and am very disappointed by it having a 2 - 0 lead going into the 7th.

Hi, first post here. I have been reading for a few weeks and like what I see.

Garner pulled him because of the runner on 3rd base. Lidge has been great down the stretch. I was very suprised to see Lidge not finish the game out without letting the braves touch the ball. He is that good. He broke the NL record for strikeouts by a reliever this year. He did not come through yesterday for the first time in a very long time. I am not sure if it was nerves or what but it was a good decision by Garner even though Lidge did not get it done. 95% of the time he will finish that game and the Braves do not get another hit. He just did not have his A game yesterday.

I am a 20+ year Astros fan and that game really hurt. At least they are coming home now.

Thanks baff, but I thought there was only a man on first when they took him out of the game with one out? Didn't make sense. I agree that Lidge is SICK, however I don't think that was the spot to take out Oswalt.
