isnt it ironic that the same would have been true for the Vikings -4 if it had not been for an OT touchdown!!

Fishhead has alot of knowledge to share with us. He has taught me alot of things over time here. Often he asks me to pay for advice though, so I just pass and wait until I learn on my own. :drink:

i'm sure fish know more about wagering sports than i do, but if one of his "tips" is never to bet on a team giving more than 3, that is plain stupid!

sherman, it is a 'personal' rule of his....

doesnt mean that there is no value in some games laying 3 or more, rather simply saying he doesnt bother capping those situations....

In no way is it a golden rule, it is apart of a strategy. It is not bad advice either for a newbie. Sets their mind thinking more about the dogs.

Guys-

I hate the NFL but I follow Fish's guidelines to the letter and I am having a great year in the NFL. I don't bet many favorites at all anymore. Today I had Detroit, San Diego and St. Louis. All dogs all W's.

I was going to send Fish a personal email about this but I couldn't sign on for some reason.

Fish is as sharp as they come.

Man, worst betting day in a while. Went 0-4 today in foots and 0-1 in bases. Had $75 left in one of my accounts went and played 1 hand of let it ride(out of pur disgust) and I hit a full boat, paid 11 to 1 on my $75 bet.

Made me feel a bit better. But still, a far cry from the :hump: I took today.

We'll get'em next week!:heh:

It was a bad beat for the Broncos bettors. They completely dominated but settled for FGs early, had the bonehead play on 4th at the goal line, and then finished the game out in good field position, but the Panthers couldn't stop them to force a covering field goal. The yardage edge was huge and the game shouldn't have been close, but it just ended up that way. This just reinforces my belief that you can't make arbitrary decisions such as limiting a certain number. You can tell yourself to be extra careful in those spots, but never rule anything out because most times teams with an edge like Denver had today will win by a margin that will cover any number on the board.

Have not wagered on an NFL game laying over -3 in at least the last 11 years and promise you that i will NEVER do so again.

There are MANY underlying factors, as well as the obvious, as to why i will never do this again in my lifetime............reasons that would take hours of sitting down and talking face to face to my fellow comrades to explain.

Please note, AND I AM VERY STRONG IN THIS BELIEF, and that is this........

Any longterm(12+years), successful sportsbettor(pro) that i have meant or will meet in the future, i will never criticize or question their strategy for being successful..............no matter what their individual rules or strategies may be and even if they should happen to be completly different then what i believe to be correct.

There is no real CLEAR cut right or wrong way in this business............however, RESULTS speak for themselves and should be very well respected.

I like to make a great analogy on this...............look at the golf swings of Lee Trevino and Arnold Palmer. Any intelligent golf instuctor/teacher may disagree with the swing fundamentals..............but one should NEVER criticize the RESULTS or the player.

How in the world could you?

Anyway, i will continue to never lay over -3 in the NFL and look forward to meeting up with some of you on the golf course someday.:heh:

When Mr. Fish speaks, all of the gambling world should listen. Hes not correct 100% of the time but definitely is more than not.

I see nothing wrong with that strategy..Very seldom will I even think of laying more than 3 in the NFL, I can't say I have in a long time..you can't get a backdoor laying chalk, teams don't need to score when their winning late ...prevent defenses never help someone laying more than 3......just 3 simple reasons why it makes perfect sense IMO
