The New York Yankees have opened their last 4 playoffs series at home with a loss.

I don't think that has any effect on tonights game. That was done by chance. It's not like the players don't show up to play for game 1, it just so happens they lose/lost. I am not a big fan of trends at all so this, to me, has zero impact.

That being said, they said the same thing about that in the Twins series; I played the Yanks against Santana, and yup, I lost. But then again, all streaks come to an end at some point; tonight is the night as the Yanks are more ina must win spot than the Sox are being that there staff has been a ????

NO Rivera tonight huge advantage for Boston

That's a big part of the Yankees defense out of the picture for 1, maybe 2 games. Even if he comes back for game 2, will he be physically and mentally ready? This event has got to effect his performance early on.
So Tragic.

Where, of course it does. The Yankees have come out flat 4 straight series openers all being at home and that means nothing?

And when I mean flat the last 4 series openers for the Yankees (all at home remember) they have scored a TOTAL of 6 runs.

Can we go through the games please? I remember one game, against Santana and the Yanks came out to play, albeit they lost. They hit Santana hard all game, just couldn't get the big hit. Don't think that means they came out flat, no errors and a very strong pitching performance. Last year was last year, this is a different team, with more fire under their ass than ever before. Big teams, big players make big plays. The Sox have proven ZERO over the past 80?? years to assume they come out firing.

Cool, calm and collective, Yanks pull through for the W. And again, I am not sayign this is a "lock" by any stretch, as one mistake can cost either team the game. My feeling is the Yanks win.

This is a MUST win for the Yanks, they will not come out flat. Sure, they may lose this one, I just don't see it. The O is pumped after 2 amazing comebacks. They ride continues and I think they get to Schilling more so than the Sox do against Moose.
