News Regarding tonights weather: It has been raining constantly all day in St. LOuis but no torrential downfalls. This game has about a zero chance of being cancelled as this field drain better than any in baseball. I can tell you from playing a couple of times at Busch several years ago that the ball really skips in the outfield when wet though conditions are not sloppy. The premium on tonights game will not be on offense or pitching but on defense which is a major advantage for the Cardinals. We all saw firsthand how Houston's defense consistently botches plays or misplays rountine balls such as Walker's triple to right that was misplayed by Berkman. There will be at least two misplays imo by Houston outfielders this evening. Second, I have personally got off my over play for tonight as weather could affect runs scored but would suggest a no play on either side of the total runs. In regards to Morris, if this was a road game or a day game, Morris gives up a lot of homers but with these conditions, there will be no cheap hr's and expect less than 3 for the game. Also, Morris has pitched his best games this year at home in an evening game and coming off of a game he gave up 4 or more runs which this game qualifies. This occurred roughly 6-8 times this year and in all of those games Morris gave up 2 or fewer in that appearance. Just an fyi but to explain my thinking on tonight's game. This makes St. Louis an even stronger play imo. BOL.
