Street Facts from Las Vegas by Richard Reed

Besides discounts/deals listed below, we have added the
following section keeping you current with all the interesting
and noteworthy items happening around Las Vegas.

* A Las Vegas legend will be missed . . . comedian and actor
Rodney Dangerfield died last week. Dangerfield performed
at several casinos during his 30-year run in Vegas. He also
helped many comedians get a start in their early careers,
such as Jim Carrey, Andrew Dice Clay, the late Sam Kinison
and Jerry Seinfeld.

* Master magician and illusionist David Copperfield returns
to MGM Grand's Hollywood Theatre with his latest stage
production show, An Intimate Evening Of Grand Illusion.
Performing December 23 through January 5, 2004, tickets
for all performances are priced at $97 inclusive, with the
exception of the special 10:30 p.m. show on New Year's Eve
(December 31), priced at $150 per person and includes
champagne, a balloon drop and party favors. Tickets for all
shows are now on sale.

* Teatro, MGM Grands newest nightspot will get a new make
over. Less than a year old, the $5 million dollar nightspot will
soon have a new dance floor and even the casino version of
Go Go Girls, 2004 style. This intimate red hideaway will be
soon the place to be seen. Renovations expected to be done
by late November 2004.

* Speaking of nightspots, rumors are flying that several new
owners may be involved in the new nightclub being built at
Caesars Palace. The 36,000 sq. ft. nightclub may have the
likes of Celine Dion, Andre Agassi and even Shaquille O'Neil
as owners and more to be named later.

* The Donald gets a yes vote from the Clark County officials
to build the tallest hotel on the Strip. Next hurdle he will face
is the FAA to get approval of the 1,000 room hotel with 50
residential units. That approval is expected later this month.
No construction date to begin work has been announced.

* A cauldron of $10,000 is brewing up at Harrah's Casino for
a Halloween fright. Dress sexy, scary or get creative on
Saturday Oct.30, 2004 to compete for some monster cash at
the Carnaval Court "Creature Triple Feature." The only
outdoor Halloween party on the Las Vegas Strip will heat up
at 8p until 3a, admission is $10, must be 21.

* Real estate is hot in downtown Las Vegas. Barrick
Gaming, most known for buying The Plaza is acquiring more
buildings and control 25 acres of downtown Vegas real
estate. Their newest purchases include the Nevada Hotel
and the Queen of Hearts.

* Sheldon Adelson, has filed for a $350 million stock offering
for his parent company, Las Vegas Sands. His newest
project already underway, The Palazzo, will be a 3,025 room
tower and additional restaurants and shopping area.
Adelson owns The Venetian Casino and with his current
plans underway will become the largest hotel in the world.

* Show returns . . . X, The Show, will return to the V Theater
at 10:30p. Not a newcomer to the Aladdin Casino, X The
Show played for more than a year before difficulties arose in
the Aladdin Showroom. Glad to see producers Angela
Sampras and Bobby Boling have returned to the Aladdin
property, this time in the V Theater.

* Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame bull rider Richard "Tuff" Hedeman
will appear for an autograph session at the Imperial Palace's
sidewalk-front club Tequila Joe's on October 22, at 2p. The
first 100 guests will receive an autographed Bud Light
T-shirt.

* A 16,000-square-foot quilt memorializing the victims of the
September 11 terrorist attacks will make a stop at the
Tropicana Casino, November 19-21, 2004 for an exhibition
open to the public. The United In Memory 9/11 Victims
Memorial Quilt, a traveling memorial exhibit in honor of the
individual victims of 9/11, stretches more than 1,500 linear
feet. The quilt, a global undertaking of more than 3,000
volunteers from 18 countries, consists of 142 individual
10-1/2-square-foot panels, each containing 25 blocks
memorializing every victim of the attacks on September 11.

* Another new show coming to Las Vegas . . . Forbidden
Vegas is an all-new musical comedy revue with more than
30 parodies of famous Las Vegas headliners and
entertainment productions. The four cast members
accompanied by on-stage musical director Kim Steiner will
spoof well-known celebrities, attractions and productions
that have made Las Vegas the Entertainment Capital of the
World.
