I pronounce Arkansas as... Are- Kansas, like R-Kansas ?

If I'm not mistaken it's illegal in the state of Arkansas to mispronounce the state's name; if you live there you jest better hightail it on outta there mister!

I went to high school with a girl from Arkansas she said pronouncing Arkansas R-Kansas was like pronouncing Kansas "Can's Ass"

She wasn't happy with that particular way of saying it.

But she was hot so we didn't listen to her much when she spoke. :hump: :hump: :hump:

I got it from old Mary Tyler Moore show. Character "Ted" pronounced it that way, loved it. Have used it ever since. Mr Clinton from R- Kansas., etc.

If you don't like it, then jump thru my monitor and kick butt.:manwh:

How about Nevada ? I was taught as a child... Ne-vah-dah. I lived there and it's Nuh-vaah- daah. Locals rule! Now Missouri .
