Some definite surprises here......Look at Utah up at no. 7.......They could be a definite fly in the ointment....

Wisconsin is all the way up at no. 6......this team plays so vanilla, but they just keep winning.......

Auburn i would have thought would be higher, they have beaten everyone and soundly........

And Tennesse still in the top 10, after losing badly at home to Auburn, yet they are still ahead barely of Georgia, who they beat soundly....

And low and behold, down at the bottom, the FIGHTING IRISH, who early in the year, people were saying they wouldn't win 4 games after they lost to BYU......wondering if Ty Willingham would survive after this year, and etc.....then low and behold, they are in the top 25 BCS, and just cracked the top 25 polls this week........Have a home game against BC next week in a revenge game, and the Pitt still on the schedule, before having to play at TENN, and at USC in 2 very big games.......they beat pitt, and BC, and win either of the other 2 games, and they will be in a very big bowl game this year....a big surprise from how the season started.....

Also surprised to see OK State in there, after losing so bad at home to Texas A&M this week...

Also surprised Boise State is as high as they are, with their schedule, and the close games they have played....they have had about 3-4 squeakers, on a very weak schedule....

There will always be controversy towards the top, no matter what rankings are, but, personally, I feel any ranking system that ranks UAB ahead of Texas Tech, Virginia Tech, Minnesota, Missouri, South Carolina- I could go on and on- has no merit.

yeah, i was surprised to see UAB up there as well.....

Definitely some surprises in the first week, however those tend to work themselves out as the season goes on, whether its losses, or the quality of competition finally catching up with them...

I don't think the players want it that much either... more chance of injuries adding 3-4 more games for the elite programs.

4 team playoff at the most IMO.

Yeah right, I bet if they did a poll of all the starting players in Division I they would vote at least 95% for a playoff. Young kids think they are invincible and love the limelight.
