maybe he went to the "Richie Phillips School of umpiring down the foul lines at yankee stadium" for it was phillips who somehow missed jeffrey maier reaching out over the fence and calling it a HR when it should have been an out.

of course had that fat ass tony tarasco jumped for the ball and caused a collison maybe then it would have been called.

If a call is obvious the first time you see it at regular speed on TV then how can it be difficult to see in person when you are maybe 75 feet from it?
