The first time I sent money down to BetOnSports, back in '01 or '02, I made the check payable to Finir Finance LTD. I called them this year to inquire about a new account. They told me the check should be made payable to BOS (Antigua) LTD. When I ask them why the change, they won't give me an answer that I can understand.

This summer, when I sent a check to BoDog, I made the check payable to Lancashire Finance LTD. I just got my payout checks today, and the payor is Gregor Finance LTD.

Anybody able to shed any light on this? Before I decide to send anymore cash to offshore books, I'd like to understand what they're up to with all this stuff. I mean, when I send cash to AMeritrade, I make the check payable to Ameritrade Clearing INC. When they sent me cash, the check is from Ameritrade Clearing INC.

Another thing...the Mall San Pedro in Coast Rica. I know Wagermall and BetOnSports both operate out of that building, as well as Millennium. When I sent my check to Wagermall, they had me make the check out to Mill (Antigua) LTD. But when I called Millennium about sending a check, they said I would make the check payable to the exact same payee...Mill (Antigua) LTD.

Lastly, BetOnSports just went public this summer. They are traded on the London Stock Exchange, I think. The ticker symbol is BSS.L. I've scoured the internet trying to get a copy of their financial statements. Can't find anything. Not even a corporate home page.

Guardian Guaranty had me make the check payable to Guardian Guaranty Corp. That's the only one that makes sense to me, really. I understand the same guys own Tradewinds and Badlands.

This is the stuff that's making me nervous. Why do these companies do business under so many different names? What's really going on with these sportsbooks and all the different Finance LTD stuff?

Many of these books all fall under the same corporate umbrella.

US Corporations are no different.... Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Microsoft... etc etc etc. They all have 100's of sub-corporations with different names and different functions. There are dozens of reasons for doing this that I doubt I'd do the list any justice by listing 2-3 of them.

Also...why are you still playing with BoS?

See, I just checked with CRIS. I called their 800 number and asked them where I would send in a deposit. They're asking me to make the check payable to Investment Manager, S. A.

What the heck is "Investment Manager, S.A." anwyay? It could be some guy with a $10,000 bankroll who's scrambled together enough dough to buy some nice software, outsource his call center to the mall san pedro folks and if he wins, fine, if not, he pays off the small guys and stiffs the big winners. How hard would it be to do that?

I got my check from BoDog today. Low five figures. In case anyone is interested in figuring out who is good for large amounts and who isn't, I can vouch for BoDog. They're legit. Just hoping the other two books who owe me even more are good for it too.

You'd rather your checks be made payable to "Olympic Sportsbook" or "Pinancle Sports"?

Me neither...

I checked my bank statement the other day and saw a payment to "neteller.com" and I wasn't happy that they were using the name of their site now.
