Well, I am jumping on the bandwagon and playing this. If the Yankees have a lead going to the 8th it will be tough versus Rivera. Lowe showed enough last outing where I think he can match Kevin Brown, especially with the Yankees struggling a bit with runners in scoring position. The wildcard in this game is Wakefield in my opinion. His knuckler was nasty the other night so if Varitek can catch the ball, I think he may settle things out in the middle innings where Vasquez & El Duque should be easier to hit. Wakefield was a hard luck member of my Battlin Bucco teams in the early 90's that lost 3 NLCS in a row and had Aaron Boone get him last year. I just have a feeling he makes a BIG contribution in this game and gets some redemption. My initial reaction to the line in this game was that Vegas is attempting to attract Boston money and the public is favoring them tonight. However, Sportsinsights was showing 88% of series bets on the Yankees so it may be sort of a hedge on the books part. Lowe could get drilled in this game and it could be over early but @ +150, I'm hopping on the Boston train.
