It may sound like a stupid question, however, are you satisfied with your season if you lose in the WS? Hypothetically speaking, does this series win against the Yanks make up for the WS loss?

Thanks, my guess would be no, but then again I am not a Sox fan so I don't know how much this really means or how much pain this would suck up if you lose.

the goal is the win the world series.

beating the yankees was a great appetizer. now we're hungry for the meal.
anyone who says they're contempt with just beating NY has no faith in this team.

It always sucks to lose ... BUT ... I will never forget the pain that I felt last year after Wakefield gave up that HR. I didn't sleep all night and the ONLY thing that kept me going was the hope that Grady Little would be fired.

Had we been swept this year, the hurt wouldn't have been as devastating.

It would have killed me not beat the Skankees again, but if we lose to the NL team, it will all depend on how it happens. Something like last year or 1986 would be devastating, but anything else would be something I could handle.

Interesting question and I have to tell you what happened last year. A good friend of mine is a die hard Yankees fan. It is only a good day in the Yankee fans mind if two things happen 1. Yankees win and 2. Boston loses. So they don't just root for their team they also root against the soxs. After the Yankees beat Boston last year their comment was it doesn't even matter if we win the world series because we beat Boston. In the Yankee fans mind this was a bigger accomplishment. Totally warped thinking in my mind but it seems to be part of the great rivalry. I for one am a typical american who roots for the underdog overcome great odds to win. That is why you would never see me rooting for the Yankees. I want to see David beat Golith.

Beating the Yanks will take the sting out of losing the WS.But technically the curse will still be alive.

Can we take this childish poster's comments off the forum? I don't know if he thinks people really care about how he feels, but this really brings the forum down a notch.
