I have 400 to make 3100 on the Sox to win the World Series. Just wondering what you guys have for a opinion on hedging. Thanks a lot. I think there are a lot of great posters here.

It's up to you.....with StLouis at around the +145 range, you could easily hedge this baby out and take home a nice profit....

I think Boston wins it so any hedge would be giving money back....just my opinion, but then again I'm a greedy bastard....

I would be curious to see what the series price on StLouis would go to if Boston would win the first two games.....then there would be a hefty hedge available for the taking if one wanted to do so.....kinda like the heavy payback on the Sox if one took them to win after being down 3-0 to the Yankees....

Good luck with whatever you choose to do....:toast:

I think marco has a good point, you should definitely not lose money at this point. I haven't seen first game or two predicted pitchers, but my guess is Boston will be favored at home.

Maybe consider dividing the hedge up a little. Place $100-200 on Stl to win series, if Boston wins game one or games one and two at that point place another 100-200 on stl in series, number would now be +300 to +400 range, now you have locked up a sure win it is just a metter of how much.

Stl is tough at home, if they can get a split in Boston all of a sudden your series bet doesn't look as good.

Hope it helps.

Just wondering if I should place more than 200 on the Cardinals?I think they can win the first game without Pedro or Schilling pitching and then the Cardinals would be favored. I was thinking of putting a 1000 on them so I would win either 2100 or 1400. Thanks so much.

I am in the same position..........I have 2000 to win 10600..........I could walk right now with like 4500...............but...............I also think Boston will win this so I feel by hedging I am giving $$$ away...........but..........on the other hand I remember how I felt after last Saturday night and I consider myself very fortunate to even be in this position..........I dont really know what to do.........I think for sure I should try to get my orgional 2000 hedged so if anything happens I dont lose $$$$ at this point

Here my projected lines
right now St Louis +1.40
Boston - 1.60

Boston wins gm 1.........St Louis +2.00 St L wins gm 1.........St Louis +1.00
Boston -2.20 Boston -1.20

What to do??????????

Boston wins first two games.....StLouis now in the +415 range to win the series.....

Boston looking awful strong......Cards having trouble hitting......

I think Boston wins this.......curious to know what you did with the wager, if you hedged out any or are thinking of at this point.....

Right now a hedge puts you somewhere between a 4 to 1 and 8 to 1 return....

I put 2000 on the cards to win 6600 so I can make either 4600 if cards win or 8600 if Bosox wins..........Maybe a dumb move but I just couldnt see losing $$$ at this point especially thinking about being down 2000 when the Sox went down 0-3 and Shilling doubtful........Theres nothing worse than sitting on a future and having a hurt superstar, especially a pitcher, I surely would have never made the bet if I thought Schill was hurt........Things worked out pretty good for me but I am still rooting on the Sox...........GO SOX
