Probably a mediocre outing by Wakefield at best.

Wishful thinking has me hoping that I am wrong.

I can definately see him getting spanked tonight. Boston definately needs their offense tonight or they will be down 1-0.

Although I am not a BIG BOSOX Fan, Wakefield is one of my FAVS....

But, I do not think he is going to last very long tonight.... Cards have a very good hitting lineup, they are patient at the plate and most of them are NOT free swinging hitters!

6-10-09:
Wakefield (8-3) allowed eight hits in six innings and improved to 5-0 at Fenway Park in five starts this year.

BOSTON -- Terry Francona did not have to look far to find a starter to take Daisuke Matsuzaka's place in the Red Sox rotation Friday.

Francona will turn, as he has many times before, to knuckleballer Tim Wakefield, who made an emergency start this past Sunday and pitched far better than any one had reason to expect, limiting the Seattle Mariners to three hits and a run in 5 2/3 innings. This, after Wakefield had pitched just one inning since April 18.

And of the 2 million Wakefield is set to receive, I could almost guarantee 1/4 of it is going to charitys. Wakefield is an awesome guy, I'd love the chance to meet him someday.
