Astrokym, 2 things you have to ask yourself. 1st will you be mad at yourself if you don't hedge and Cards win it, can you deal with it?. 2nd, really depends on how desperately you need the funds. If you really want that guaranteed hedge money to continue wagering down the road or whatever you need the money for, then that's the choice you have to make. I don't follow baseball much, but you originally felt as if Boston could win it, so why not stick with it. It's probably their time. Look in the last few years at teams that have faced so many struggles and heartbreak, but finally pull out something special lately. Bucs win Super Bowl, Tampa Bay Lightning win Stanley Cup, it may be Red Sox's turn.

Like Sherman said, it is a personal thing. You haver a lot of oppurtunities with that bet.

You could even wait until after Game one, and if Bos wins, your Card odds will be a lot higher.

But since it is just about game time, if you didn't make a wager by now you will have to wait anyways.

If you didn't you obviously want the Sox to win. that way you get a double premium. You are one win closer to the original, and your odds increase on your insurance.

If Sox lose, and you haven't hedged, you are screwed. But if the series goes long enough, you might have some outs down the line. If it goes 7 and Pedro is at home for that game, then your odds ther will most definately be better than the series odds were on the Cards.

Series bets offer up a lot of chances to save yourself. That is why they are so easy to profit from, even if you make "mistakes".
