The question is what took them so long?

Should have fired him after IOWA thrashed the Gators 37-17 in last years Outback Bowl.................or sooner.

As a lifelong Gator fan I believe I'm the most qualifed to comment on this...

I was a Zook believer up until the LSU loss this season. The loss to Iowa meant nothing really... Zook is a top-notch recruiter who was bringing in quality kids. Problem is...he wasn't winning games in the mean-time.

The decision was pretty much set after the LSU loss... The firing would have came at the very next loss...which happened to be this saturday.

Losing to what is essentially a D2 team is the last straw. There's no excuse for it. Spurrier won't be coming back unless Foley leaves. The D coordinator will be gone too. Fedora as O-Coordinator will probably be gone with the new staff as well.

Personally...I'm hoping for Gruden. He wanted to come when Zook was hired...maybe he'll still want to....but that's quite a long shot.... So is Shanahan. NO hope of getting Stoops anymore. (Why would he leave OU??)

Most likely though... Urban Meyer (from Utah) will be our next coach. Florida is going to throw a ton of money at him and he'd be an idiot to say no to it.
