It's played like this...

If someone says "spread" a reply could be "defense" or "dive" or "Dante"

So just take the last letter of the previous word

It could be anything to do with any word that has been ever used in a sporting event on tv or anything, OR any word used in gambling..

Lets see how intelligent us gamblers are and see how far we can make this go..
