I'm pretty sure sportbet is selling phone numbers to touts.

I don't know this for a fact, but a buddy of mine and I are both getting tout calls weekly. We've never given out our numbers or made any calls to touts, and sportbet is the only account he has right now. I would appreciate it if you guys would stop, as it is very annoying.

I called one of these touts' 800 numbers for the recorded message. I really did it just for shits and giggles, and to see how good they were.

Anyway 2 days later I got a call from this guy asking me if I wanted to buy some picks. I said no, and he said that if I did not buy, 5000 other people would be calling me as they all have my phone number now. I said well the only way all of these people would have my phone number is if you scumbags sold it to them. He said whatever and I hung up.

These guys are real jerkoffs.

I do call one place for scores, and it is free, so maybe that is the source for the touts. I get the phone number for the tout a lot of times on my caller ID, so I just might have to think about selling their number to the FBI. It's a Boston area code a lot of times.

The First Thing I Say

To them is "Hi I`m glad you called because I have my GOY going today"! Then "give me your CC # and we`re in business" BTW it`s ALWAYS the L word. Never hear from them again. If I had time I used to string tham along for 10 mins. or so. Oh and Sportbet may be the WORST book of all time.

Illini and Baus,

Please allow me to state, emphatically and unequivacably, that we do NOT SELL our client lists to ANYONE. I would never jeapordize our good name by selling our lists to some tout service, nor any other company or group. I hate getting those phone calls as much as the next guy, and tarnishing our reputation of clientele privacy is not something we are interested in doing.

That being said, I know that there is a number that you can press if you get a recorded message, and they will not be allowed to call you back. Someone once posted it here(or BW or MW) but I believe it was about 2 years ago. Someone like Phaedrus, Winky, Dante, or Halifax....basically someone old around here like me. LOL.

I do know this for a fact that if you play alot of contests at books that sometimes the software can screwup and you can get info on players..email..phone #..lots of leaks where these guys get your # :mad:

Jake- thanks for addressing the issue. I'm glad that you guys are not selling phone numbers, because nobody likes getting those tout calls. I am sorry to bring your name into this, but it was the only clue I had, since sportbet is the only place that my buddy plays at. I just opened an account at BCN Sports. Are you guys affiliated with them? Because the software is exactly the same. Just curious. Thanks.

I have been getting many emails from touts every day for weeks now. Trace Adams and Jeff Benton I know for sure. I delete them automatically but it's still a pain in the butt. I 'm sure someone (a gambling site or sportsbook)must be giving them this info. Can't be Sportbet as I don't play there.
