Maybe I don't agree with him all the time and I don't.
But, John McCain is an honorable and honest Republican.
Can't think of many others. Oh, yeah I almost forgot Lincoln.
Did anybody catch him on 60 minutes tonight? McCain not Lincoln.

Yep ...

What Rove / Bush did to McCain in the SC primary in 2000 was totally disgusting:

* They spread rumors McCains wife was addicted to pills

* They spread rumors McCain had an illegiamate black child

* They spread rumors McCain was mentally unstable

I was sooo proud of McCain for telling Bush to cool it on the Swift Boat crap ....

If McCain was the Republican nominee, I would vote Republican as McCain is 2 up on Bush: 1) McCain can spell CLASS 2) McCain has CLASS

I think I could easily vote for McCain. If given the opportunity
this guy could really help clean up the government. Maybe,
he and Mrs. Clinton could team up next time??? Difficult to
find an honest R.

Can't argue about a past mistake. But, I don't think it invalidates the entire
network. Come on, I mean they have reported on thousands of news
stories and still have more credibility than Fox, a station that has only
been around a relatively short period of time. How soon we forget about
Cronkite, once considered one of the most honored men in the country.
Remember what Johnson said about a Cronkite opinion on the VN war?

Cronkite has not been on the air for over two decades. CBS is obviously out to get Bush as is the NY Times. I watch FOX I also watch CNN and MSNBC....I watched the complete coverage on BOTH conventions my head is not now or never will be in the sand...I find lots wrong on both sides BUT I think when the media gets directly involved with cheerleading they lose credibility.

Okay, how about when the church gets involved.
Mainly the Catholic church. They are almost telling
their members you are not a "good catholic" unless
you vote for Bush?

Stacilu:

I am a Catholic ... I have a very hard time buying this image of Bush:

* He tells everyone that Catholics and Islam pray to the same God??? Really .... read the Koran, Junior and get up to speed
* He touts Islam as the "Religion of Peace" .. really, funny how there are over 120 passages that tout "killing the infidels"
* Bush told us all he had a conversation with God and God "told him to attack Iraq?"
* Bush just came out last week in a TV interview in favor of Same Sex Unions .. complete oppst of what the Republican party supposedly stands for
* Bush had his folks spread rumors about Anne Richards being a Lesbian in the 94 Tx Gov Race ... spread nasty rumors about McCain in the 2000 SC primary (sorry, I dont buy this crap he did not know ... hogwash: his tight buddy is Karl Rove who runs his campaigns and is slime at best)

How deep Bush's religious values are .. I question .. only God truely knows but his talk and actions dont add up from a consistency standpt

I do not think ANY modern day church has any business in politics just as I feel the government has NO business in any church. I firmly believe the devider between church and state is VERY important as our country was founded by religous persecuted. When the right wing christians become too engrossed in the republicans convention in 1996 I left the party and become independent. I am not a republican shill....I just can not stomache the idea of Kerry becoming President when the country is at WAR.

As an agnostic I find it difficult to equate politcal leanings based on what any so called god has to do with anything. Just adding my 2 cents here.

Tom if that is your main reason for staying the course with Bush I
must have some respect for that opinion. It makes a little sense,
even though so far he has really messed this war up--big time.
Now don't think for one minute I agree with you, I am just saying
I can understand that logical argument. Most of the other arguments
given by some of the nit wits on this forum just make most of us
want to puke. However, keep in mind that the Redskins lost
today.

If we were not at war I would vote Bush out in a NY minute I think his fiscal policy is terrible and with the Rep's in controlled of both houses Kerry has ZERO chance of being a tax and spend Pres...........actually Clinton with the Reps in congress did a VERY good job fiscally..Clinton was just a poor Pres when it meant getting tough with terroist,,,,,,,,,remember he was Pres under three major terrioist attacks (US COLE, 1st UN bombing and the Marine housing in Saudi Arabia)and he didnt do JACK, thus I feel the terriost had to "really" get us to get our attention...... The terroist want war with us....they dont want land...they dont want money, they dont want our politics, they want to kill Americans. We are at WAR with people that want us dead....that fact trumps all other policy at this time in my eyes.

I agree with most everything you say,I just believe Kerry
could do a better job. Difficult to do worse, imo. You
are right about Clinton, most of his policies worked. Many
R's just hate him on moral grounds. The man was a
great politician and worked his policies with most
everybody. Did you ever remember seeing the man
flustered? I mean even when he was caught lying about
the ML thing, he barely broke a sweat.

It's almost funny how misdirected people can be.

What a ticket that would have been. Hillary Clinton and John McCain. Just the team to "clean up government".
