They say Jason Varitek is the #1 priority. I don't have a problem with that as long as they don't over pay for him. The thought is Derek Lowe is most likely going elsewhere. I'd like to see him stay, but again, at the right price. I don't see it happening. He may end up in Anaheim is my sleeper prediction. Orlando should be and will be signed. Though I wouldn't go past 2 yrs with OC. (it's said we have a great prospect at ss ready to go in about 2 yrs, though they sometimes talk these guys up) Then there's Pedro. Is he going to the Yankees? Staying with the Sox? I have also heard Anaheim, Baltimore & Washington. I really don't know where #45 is going to end up. I'd like to see him in a Red Sox uniform to finish out his career, but think Theo & Co. should keep it to a 3 yr deal. Anything higher than that cold hurt. Think about it Boston fans...are the Sox better off signing all 4 of these guys at the price it would cost or letting all 4 walk? I'd have to say letting all 4 walk. Now I'm not saying that's what I want them to do, but given those 2 choices, i'd have, well, no choice.
I haven't heard this but a friend of mine says he understands the Sox may be trying to trade Manny. He didn't have any particular scenarios to report. I know Manny makes an awful lot of money but I'd have to really be blown away with a deal they could come up with for Mr. Ramirez.
The Sox won the World Series. I can never be as high as when the Sox did it, but doing it again will be ALMOST as sweet.
