Hello folks,

I am a long-time lurker here at THERX. Today I come to you with disturbing news about SPORTBET.com.

I have read THERX Forum for a long time. During this time I have read many people bashing SPORTBET and the GM of this operation, JAKE. I had also seen many people here defend SPORTBET. Some of the mods here felt that SBR is too harsh on SPORTBET by rating them a mere "C". I was inclined to agree. It seemed from what I read, that all the players always got paid.

Not this time.

After reading some positive things about SPORTBET here, I decided to post up there on July 28. I sent $2000 thru Neteller for their 20% bonus offer. Starting balance = $2400. THE ROLLOVER WAS 3X. Again, it was 3X. It was stated plainly on their site, 3X.

This rollover would equal $7200. I thought this to be a fair deal.

After 24 hours, I was down to about $500 as a balance. Gradually, over the next 4-5 weeks I built it up with some good luck on MLB dogs. During this process, I fulfilled the 3X rollover. I wagered over $12,000, which means I actually rolled over about 5x.

I should also mention that on Aug 22 they cut my limits from $500 to $250.

Sep 2, I request $2000 to Neteller. Got paid no problem.
Oct 1, I request $2000 to Neteller. Got paid no problem.

Oct 29, I request $730 to Neteller (my remaining balance). Clerk says I will be paid Oct 30 (Saturday).

Nov 2, still no money in Neteller. I check my Sportbet balance and it is $0. I am shocked. I call, talk to Jeffrey. He has no authority to do anything. Fine.

So today I call and ask for Jake. Jake must have been busy, because I get stuck with Tommy. Remember, we are talking about a $730 payout here folks.

Tommy tells me the reason my balance is $0 is because I did not meet the 7X rollover! I remind Tommy that the correct rollover was 3X. No, he keeps saying, it was 7X. He goes on to tell me that the $2000 I got paid Oct 1 should actually have been a payout of around $1200, and the rest of my balance confiscated, due to something he calls the "Bonus Penalty". I remind Tommy again that I was dealing with a 3X rollover, so there should be no "bonus penalty" since I clearly met the rollover.

I ask Tommy "Why did I get paid Oct 1 if there was a rollover issue? Shouldn't your 'Bonus Penalty' have applied on Oct 1?". He says it was a mistake I got paid and that I am "lucky" to have received the Oct 1 payout of $2000, and he is being nice to me by not asking me to send it back to them!!!

I remind Tommy again that there is no way in hell that it was a 7X rollover, because I never would have signed up at your book if that were the case. Not only that, but there is NO MENTION anywhere on the SPORTBET.com site about any "Bonus Penalty". Very misleading.

If you look at their site today, you will see that they are offering a 15% sign up bonus, with a 3X rollover. But for some reason, back on July 28 it was a 7X rollover, so they say. Go figure.

Folks, if you are looking for honesty, play elsewhere. Sportbet doesn't play by their own rules. SBR should probably lower them to D.

The truth is, I think this is mostly just some sort of computer type of mix up. The computer says "7X" so Tommy says "7X". But the most disheartening thing is the way they have dealt with this. All they had to do was email me and say "You haven't met the rollover. You need to play more". Ok, that's reasonable. But to confiscate the whole balance, and not call me, or email me....that's just poor business. Shame on you Sportbet. Do the right thing Jake; send me $730 to Neteller.

I was actually considering posting up with Sportbet just this week. Have never played there before. Unless Jake pays this player in full, and timeously, I certainly will avoid Sportbet for my beloved NBA season. Jake: paying this customer isn't enough. You must also assure us that this kind of crap won't continue. You can't just simply take money out of a player's account. If you did that in the country where I live, you would be put in jail.

Thanks Dante.

I think it's one of those things that has to start at the top. Ronald is right, there seems to be a pattern with this book, at least from what I've read the last 6-12 months.

To be taken seriously, Sportbet should be a little more transparent with their rules. Try finding the words "Bonus Penalty" on their site. Tommy repeated those words 12 times to me today, but they are nowhere to be found on the site. It doesn't say anywhere that they will take away a large portion of your balance. Just a little bit of a customer service type of attitude adjustment might be needed.
JJ: I will keep posting if I get the same salary as you. :kicking:

I was about to post about a positive experience I had with Sportbet today, but this is probably not the time or place.

This is whatis on the site

Failure to complete the rollover or 30 day hold will result in the forfeiture of the bonus, as well as any winnings won from the bonus in question.
I honestly do not know what the policy was in July so I cannot comment. I have played there for 2+ years, and there are 2 things ones needs to kknow about sportsbet:
1. No tolerance for bonus whores
2. You have to get to kknow Jake.

The lack of clarity in their rules does end up with "issues". Hey I had one today. BUt Jake is very reasonable. Talked to him concerning my issue, and offered him what i considered an equitable solution, fair to all, and he accepted it. end of case.

Tommy is a nice kid, but he has zero authority there.
I feel bad if you are entitled to the money guy, but TALK to JAKE.
You wil get much further doing that than posting on the RX.

Best of luck

Wow that's a weird situation. I'm confident Jake will clear this up, I'm surprise that you got shafted to begin with. There is definately no mention of a 7 time rollover so I can't see how they could try to make a legitimate case for taking your money. Hopefully it all works out.

I currently play at sportbet but today I tried to place a wager and realized my limit is cut to $250 even though I have never won at this place. I think about closing my account because of my current limit and because I have seen enough complaints regarding this book in this forum. As for the roll over requirement the poster has mentioned, I always read their policy before I send them a deposit, I have never seen 7x roll over, its always 5x.

As for bonus penalty Tommy told theposter, its just bullshit!

How do they determine the penalty???

Gentlemen,

Good morning to you. Vincem, I did try and speak with you yesterday, after your conversation with Tommy, but to no avail.

Ok, let's do this:

I will try to contact you again. If again to no avail, I will gladly post our side of the story.

Also...

Nighthawk,

In the past we have offered up to 35% bonuses, with a much larger rollover. iN FACT, that was a regular promotion we were running just before this client's deposit. Please give me a call at 800-214-9666 and I will check as to why your limits were cut. Thanks.

Currently, the bonus scheme is as you stated, however. Thanks for understanding.

Dear Vince,
Sportbet has sent $730.00 USD to you, and is currently in your Neteller Account.

Thank You

Sportbet paid me today. I appreciate them making things right for me and doing the right thing in this case.

But I still believe that they should make their bonus policies as clear as possible. They are written in such vague terms right now that it probably confuses more customers than it attracts.

I should also mention that I tried 3 times to get through to Jake, but to no prevail. Regardless, this trying and exhausting experience has come to an end.

Vincem,

I guess we just keep missing eachother. I called you 3x today. I was only out of the office for an hour, otherwise I have been here all day. In fact, I just called both of the #s that I have on file for you...no answer. So I guess it has been phone tag.

I would still ask that you can call me so I can explain what happened on our end. Our policies are very clear and were at the time, and once you speak to me, I believe you will understand what occurred. Thanks for the time.

Jake

tiring and exhausting? OK a few missed phone calls. And some nervous moments, I understand. But you can not imagine the pain tiring experience it has been for me since EWINNER (a former RX banner member and contest sponsor) took my cash when they recently disappeared. And I tried with forum leaders here and elsewhere to get some help. figure out some possible win win situations. And I might say that Jake is one of the limited few, very limited few who took the time to listen to a mods request for help, took the time to talk to me personally on three occassions and kicked around some terms to get me to join and post up at his fine sportsboook while providing some bailout assistance with terms. We are still discussing and Im sorting out some things. But I cant say enough about the help and understanding that Jake at sportbet.com has provided me. No other shop listed in the above banner set even bothered to have a discussion with me or an exchange of EMAILS despite the mods here contacting all of them. not a single one........and that is with The Generals help!!

Funny thing is Im taking down funds at those shops as a result to generate some post up funds. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>

Lets change that title of this thread mods? its not fair to the one book that Im feeling pretty good about right now.<o:p></o:p>

at least change that stupid thumbs down figure next to the title.
