I've noticed a few mentioning betting their whole bankroll on one game

:WTF:

Most of the time they admit this after the fact and the game has won....I'm just curious why they would in the first place....

If you do it once you will do it again, you can only go to the well so many times and come back with water....

Depends on how big your bankroll is.

If you've been saving up for a year and your bankroll is $2000 and you're really confident on a game I don't see anything wrong with trying to double up.

Sure...it's not smart...but many of the smartest decisions are risky ones.

Because...after all.... They money we gamble with should be free and clear money. That is...if it's all lost at once it shouldn't affect your finances at all.

That said...I don't see anything wrong with it. If someone wants to risk their entire bankroll to double up. It's a huge risk... But I can't say I haven't done it before.

I think I'm like 7-4 lifetime on "All-in" games :D

WorldRunner,

With all due respect, that is one of the DUMBEST suggestions that I have read on this forum... :WTF:

I would hope that gamblers do NOT bet their entire bankroll on a game, period...

Who in the hell said I was suggesting it? I'm not suggesting it... and any "all-in" bets I've ever made were back when I had a miniscule bankroll.

If someone's bankroll is $500 who the hell cares if they want to bet it all on one game instead of betting $5 at a time. Obviously it's a different story when a bankroll is $15,000.

You took what I said exactly the way I DIDN'T intend someone to take it. sheesh.

Pretty sure I pointed out twice in my post that it's not smart.

My thinking is if someone says they bet the bankroll, they will surely chase and do it again...its just a matter of time before its a loser....

WorldRunner--I agree with you and not Shrink. It would depend on the individual gambler. How they deal with it.

Of course the Books wouldn't like it. They would say--took a shot and get mad at the gambler if they won and decided Not to play the following day.

In 1983 I flew to VEGAS and put my entire student loan of $1500(entire BR) on the Washington Huskies to defeat Maryland at PK in the Aloha Bowl.................I mean wtf was Maryland back then????

Washington coverted no LESS than 3 4th down conversions in the final 3 miniutes and scored a TD on the last play of the game and kicked the XP to win the game by ONE!

The starting quarterback for Maryland?

BOOMER Esiasson!

NOW YOU KNOW........THE REST OF THE STORY!

You think Bookies don't like this? :toothless

History will repeat itself I assure you, and eventually they lose...If I see a guy betting his whole balance I would be happy to pay him, he 'll be back and he will lose it and more.:kicking:

Just did a few searches to refresh my memory bank.

It was atually December 25th, 1982 and it was the very first Aloha Bowl game.

The final score was WASHINGTON 21 MARYLAND 20

LOL Fish I was going to say that...But I thought I may be wrong...I remembered Maryland playing in the first Aloha Bowl, but the year didn't seem right to me Fish...I'm glad you cleared that up, because I remember where I was that day..It was Christmas day too.

:toothless I had it all typed and thought , "maybe I'm thinking of a different innaugural Bowl game":coffeetim
