While many around Las Vegas realize that a weekly publication called Gaming Today generally lacks value for those who play with an edge, I was stunned to see how far it has deteriorated.

Read the rest of Wild Bill's column by going to the RX home page at www.therx.com

Been a regular reader of this fishwrap for years and years.

Bill is right on the money with his assessments.

I like it mainly to keep up on the people in the gaming industry(which is completely worthless to the tourist) and to keep abreast of promotions in Vegas and throughout the country.

But like Bill said, DO NOT listen to the advice of the gaming writers. Especially the Mr. Singer that was mentioned.

Bad enough they try and give advice on big losing games like Keno and Craps.......but to give meaningless and horrible advice on a beatable game like video poker is another thing.

Bob Singer needs to be dismissed from all gambling publications.

Does it still have the pic of the girl in a Bikini on the back page? Might be the only thing of value left on it.

The back page girl is now the page 3 girl. I agree, I can read the paper in 3 minutes and two of that is a waste of time.

But what do you imply , that these writers have an agreement with advertisers...and/or their lack of brain makes them believe that they're giving a great advice

It is all choreographed hype. Most writers have something to sell and it is their chance to advertise. GT gets the writers for free or very little and makes good money with the willing advertisers. The problem is this all comes off as "advice" when it clearly is hype.

I used to have a guy who wrote one of the craps columns for GT work for me. We had to fire him because he wasn't a good enough dealer. That about sums up their journalistic style for me.

As McGarrett said, the only thing worth looking at in that paper was the back page because that's where the weekly "hottie" was. Now as Green said, you have to actually open the paper to see her. That paper is so bad that they give it away free.

The rube tourists love stuff like that so they do distribute quite a few copies. It's a true "rag" but it's been around a long time so their ad rates and pretty high circulation probably justify keeping it around.
