Miami at Virginia

When betting on sports you must have a short memory. The play last week was more or less a "hangover" game against <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Miami giving up points also followed by a big upset. The loss to Clemson probably got me two more points than I deserve when they play a very good Virginia team this Saturday.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Virginia right now is playing for the bigger bowl bid and they have not been in that spot for a long time. They are well coached and have at least three NFL prospects on this current team. They polished off Maryland a few days ago and caught some other teams at opportune times. Their only true test came when they lost to Florida State by a big margin and by now we can see that the Seminoles as are the ‘Canes a notch below the top-rung teams for this year. Virginia would have been better off playing this particular game on the road because the home game will put added pressure on them.

Miami should be getting back a few of their players that missed the last game and one half -- the biggest help being some of their offensive linemen. Players and coaches read the paper and they know that they will be the favorite in this game and conversely Coker plays on that point also.

I have no reason to doubt that this should be decided late so taking over a field goal I should always be within striking distance. And I can root for Jessie Hestor’s kid also.

Take care, Jimmy V.
