Anyone remeber particular teams that cashed consistently for them over the past years?

For me it was when i really got started..

1995 Northwestern was 10-1 ATS and was Ohio st that year.

1996 Ohio st got honorable mention at 8-3 ATS

These 3 stand out to me...

Special thanks to John (The Jack A$$) Mackovic who guided the Longhorns to a perfect 0-9 ATS mark for the '97 season. If memory serves correctly, they covered their last two against KU & A&M.

did you back them every week fish ?
Quite a few times!

Actually, THE GENERAL asked me this week after I told him I liked IOWA this week if I bet them everyweek?

Unfortuately, the one I remember the most(and had the most money on) was the ORANGE BOWL two years ago when the Hawks got destroyed by USC.

Bad day at the office that day.

USC was one of my top plays of that bowl season Fish, that team still hasn't come off the roll they were on at that time!

the Raiders last year ...Fading them every week...I wasn't fortunate enough to be on the Faider train!

the Ravens improbable Super Bowl run was a good one...the country wasn't keen on what we in Balto were seeing week in and week out in 2000, and the line was never adjusted accordingly...still my biggest bet of all-time was on the Ravens to throttle the hapless Giants.

Honorable mention goes to the 1999 Rams

14-4-1 ATS! :biggrinin

Jumped on this bandwagon real early too, was at the game VS SF in October of 99 in St Louis, week after Steve Young got knocked cold in Arizona, St Louis won 42-20 and never looked back.

To add insult to injury, attended that game.

Thank God for the 10 hour tailgating party.........at the stadium at 10am...........game started at 8pm

There were literally over 50,000 drunk Iowa fans in the parking lot for that game.......it was unreal.

back to the original thread topic, and not who was good for a particular year

how can you not dispute the green bay packers?!?! were talking year in and year out over the last 10 or so years, before green bay id say the dolphins were your boys and yea it has to do with great QB's with great tenures (marino and favre)

to answer who is good year after year against the spread its going to be respectable orginazations with long tenure QB'ing

favre with the pack
marino with the dolphins
montana/young with the niners

all NBA teams have hit big lows in a 10 year period all MLB teams achieved too much that they consistently got over priced or just consistently lost

the NFL is the ony sport where spreads of -10 to +10 can consistently be put up and can be wiped out with just 1 or 2 scores

all college teams both hoops and foots and have failed the consistency test for a ten year period only team coming close is duke but -24 is not wiped out by a few lay ups.

year in and year out its a respectable NFL franchise with year after year consistently good QBing, often the same man!

the 85 bears were beatng teams by 20+ every week. they couldn't make the line high enough.

either 97 or 98 fresno state football was undefeated against the number

in the late 90's betting any of the military teams (navy, air force, army) against notre dame was very profitable

I believe the line closed at 7 on that game too. I was surprised, cause I though Iowa would beat them. Iowa was a lot better than the Luckeyes.

Michigan State Basketball 2000 covered last 4 reg. season and then 5 of 6 on the way to the national title. Only non cover was a 12 pt win laying 14 to Utah in the 2nd round. This run was just huge as it included like 60 pt wins against Minnesota and Michigan. Mateen Cleaves is out there at the end of the game against Mich. so he can get like 25 assists with a 58 pt. lead, it was hilarious.

Another key game in this run was MSU (-6) down to Iowa State by 10 late and made a mad rush to get the lead with like a minute to go and drunk Larry Eustachy got 5 technicals called on him. MoPete and Cleaves made 10 free throws in a row to give MSU the cover. I know its not a whole season, but this was a money making team run for many. Godspeed, Thepig.
