I will be buying this album no later than 12:01am on Nov 23 at Wal-mart. I am so excited, even more so than the last album. I remember when "All That You Can't Leave Behind" came out......it was unbelieveable to listen to it the first few times. It's still unbelieveable to listen to.

J-Man, I'll have to get that live album too. I have every U2 album, except for the live ones. I still haven't seen them in concert, though. The last chance I had was on 2001, and I couldn't make it to Chicago or St Louis either one. Did you say you've seen them 15 times live?

Personally saw them at the Fox theatre in Detroit 3,000 + seats after the release of the Unforgetable Fire, six monts later Joe Louis, six months after that the Silverdome. Really amazing how quickly they took off

I have seen them 15 times , yes...More than any other band...mainly at RKF Stadium (which is somewhat of an adventure in itself)...

I remember one year U2 was playing on a sunday @RFK, we got their extremely early, there was no place to eat, we ended up walking thru the immediate neighborhood looking for a place to eat ...huge mistake! Thankfully, we didn't get mugged, but we never did find any place to eat...

What was cool that particular time in 1987, you could hear U2 warming up all around the city, still gives me chills...I can still here the beginning of Where The Streets Have No Name, which was actually appropriate as we walked endlessly hoping to find food, LOL! The concert was in a pouring rain, Bono slipped on the stage and broke his arm (heard the next day), but the show went on...Classic !

Another time at the Meadowlands, Bruce Springsteen made an unexpected cameo appearance with Little Steven...

The Best Show was in 1992, Achtung Baby Tour...unbelievable stage they had for that one...

I can't wait ...Saw the new video last night on TV.

I'm not a U2 fan, but I am a musician and I do like the new song they have out prior to their new LP (sic), so I'll probably check it out.

I really think they took off for 2 reasons. They are as skilled as any musician that's ever walked the earth. But even more important, imo, is the lyrics. They have a song for every season of life. Pain, heartache, joy, grief, anger, confusion, humor, excitement. Their lyrics are cool, but the music almost speaks them without words. I can literally think of a U2 song for any kind of mood I'm in. And they are real people, not just rock stars.

Very well put Ilini...they're certainly not typical...A unique sound as well....

Great lyrics , great musicians, great presence, always 'appear' humble and real people...They're the total package and they stayed together....In 1986 I remember reading about The Joshua Tree long before it came out, and reading that once this album was released U2 would be the biggest band in the world...almost 20 years later, they still are...

How about that Super bowl halftime show, when they played and the scroll of the 9/11 victims names went up to the rafters....that was amazing!

You know, J-Man, that last album really soothed me as I dealt with the pain of 9/11. "Walk On" was my depression song, and "New York" was my "dammit I'm alive let's rock" song.

U2 has been kicking ass since at least 1982, remember the first time i heard one of their songs, "i will follow" in the movie "the last american virgin"...

Been a fan pretty much ever since, highlights for me though will never been any better than September 18th 1992, Tinley Park Illinois at the World Music Center. Their show for Zoo TV has YET to be topped in my book, and i have seen many many concerts.

"With or Without You"

See the stone set in your eyes
See the thorn twist in your side
I wait for you
Slight of hand and twist of fate
On a bed of nails she makes me wait
And I wait without you

With or without you
With or without you

Through the storm we reach the shore
You give it all but I want more
And I'm waiting for you

With or without you
With or without you
I can't live
With or without you

And you give yourself away
And you give yourself away
And you give
And you give
And you give yourself away

My hands are tied, my body bruised
She's got me with nothing left to win
And nothing else to lose

And you give yourself away
And you give yourself away
And you give
And you give
And you give yourself away

With or without you
With or without you
I can't live
With or without you
