Was this really the case? Good Lord, if so, I can only imagine how brutal it must have been to sit through the rest of that game. I have to believe the second quarter also set an all-time NFL record for most TV timeouts ever recorded in a 1-hour period.

I can't believe that is true. There must have been a possession change, which means commercials. If there were all running plays and a continuous clock--15 minutes--there had to be more than two minutes of commercials. There's a miscalculation there somewhere.

No this was it, the Ravens drove the ball for over 10 minutes to start the game, down to the Jets 1 yard line, the clock only stopped one time, then the jets drove the ball into Ravens territory, When the qtr ended my clock said 1:22....The clock is accurate because its set with the cable box...The clock never stopped moving the entire first qtr.

I've heard of a faster quarter.......

According to the tale (pun intended) one of Carl Lewis' lovers accidently dropped one in his ass the night before the Olympics. They said the world record was held by two people the next day, Carl Lewis and George Washington. Clearly the fastest quarter of all time.....

Sunday noon games start at 2 minutes after the hour not 5, still amazing though.
