Who bets against the public; who look at stats?

Who here strictly goes against public when making a wager? How do you determine who's "the public"?

Who uses a fundamental with stats or a situational approach with intangibles?

Who follows handicappers or touts?

I know it varies for different sports so specify if you want.

Me: Never follow handicappers. I use a 75% fundamental, 25% situational analysis. I haven't mastered the art of being a contrarian but it would probably be a good idea for football.

Redskins today are a perfect example. I am a firm beliver now on being a contratrial. Too many times I have been with the public on wages and lost.

Pay attention to what Slim posts, his book seems to always bring home the cash. In my opinion the NFL is hardly worth capping, just go against the side the public is betting 65-70%, sit back and collect. Other good sites to determine public betting patterns are caribsports.com, sportsinsights.com, and sportsbook.com. You won't win every week, but you will be on the book's side, which isn't so bad.

I use both but my very first screen in College Foots is I will not bet on a team with a better ATS record then their opponent. I know I lose out on a lot of opportunities, but in college foots there are a lot of games to choose from that fit into that situation.

only one team giving up more than 3 points and lost ,bought steelers to 3
