if by traditional books you mean las vegas the differences are:

1) you can get reduced juice offshore

2) you can get a bonus on your initial deposit offshore

3) if you have a good book, you can bet a much larger variety of props and other bets.

4) and obviously, with an offshore book, you can bet from you computer or by phone rather than being there in person. of course, your account needs to be funded with your own cash.

the main thing you should look for, in my opinion, is safety. second thing is reduced juice. third thing is bonus.

you probably want to open accounts at at least two books so you can shop for the best line. might i suggest pinnacle and hollywood to start?

good luck

blue..............sums it up pretty good......

if you plan on having a limited number of outs (more is better) make sure you choose a book that caters to "squares" and one that has a good share of sharp action........in order to get the best variance in lines....

make sure you are completely familiar with the books rules on wagering and banking....so there are no unpleasant suprises.....gl

1) You can play lower limits online than by phone. One rule of thumb was $50 or bigger for a phone bet, but online bets can be $5 most places.
2) Online might offer some exotic wagers that might not be provided by phone. (Also, you get to see your wager, avoiding argument book when clerk takes wrong bet.)
3) Over-night online betting has some great deals, but if it's too good, book might try to cancle wager as invalid.

wow thats true fish. i always hated to see the books face on losing settle days. now i can just get crushed in the privacy of my own home and after I get beat up its over and done with.

losing and then having to go see the book is like prolonged agony.
