LMAO at ABC's opening intro spot where TO says the Eagles are going to have to win without him and picks up the naked chick. Of course there might be some dissent from the moral majority.

Place me squarely in the moral majority, I guess. I thought that was tasteless for TO, much less being offered up by ABC on national television. Too bad the football game is not enough to draw a decent audience anymore.

Vin - I agree it was tasteless but still imho funny. Sad commentary about the state of what passes for entertainment these days. I found it funny in a perverse kind of sense, in other words it was so bad it was good.

Frankly, the more I reflect on this the more disgusted I become. I am now monitoring the ABC feed only to document all the advertisers so I can share with them my feelings regarding the program they are promoting. If this intro runs next week I will do the same. The radio broadcast is better, any way. Thanks to ABC for the nudge I needed to "turn out the lights."

i agree that was great. i couldnt help but to imatate it when i got up to grab a snack. funny stuff.

standing on the mini star and spreading his arms out like he did as a niner was pretty good. it is clear to me the cow girls have been instructed to just look the other way. i watched something on sportscenter and numerous players say they tune in just to watch TO's antics, and were looking forward to seeing this game.

I am sorry for using the "R" word - and NOTHING EL

the opening had nicolette sheridan of desperate housewives hitting on TO and dropping her towel and she was supposedly naked - while teri hatcher and felicity huffman watched this on TV.

it was funny - but for this event - not really something that should have been done.

i have no problem with it - i just don't think it was the best tease idea.

New York -- ABC apologized Tuesday for a steamy intro to Monday Night Football after receiving complaints from viewers and the NFL.

The spot featured a naked Nicollette Sheridan jumping into the arms of Terrell Owens.

Before the Philadelphia-Dallas game, ABC showed Owens and Sheridan in an empty locker room in an attempt to spoof the network's Desperate Housewives. Sheridan, who stars in the show, was wearing only a towel and provocatively asked Owens to skip the game for her.

After she dropped her towel, he agreed to be late for the contest and hugged her. Then the shot panned out to two more stars of Desperate Housewives, Teri Hatcher and Felicity Huffman, watching the scene unfold on a television and commenting on desperate women.

"We have heard from many of our viewers about last night's MNF opening segment and we agree that the placement was inappropriate," ABC said in a statement. "We apologize."

The NFL called the intro "inappropriate and unsuitable for our Monday Night Football audience."

"While ABC may have gained attention for one of its other shows, the NFL and its fans lost," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said.

Gimme a break! The show itself (Desperate Housewivs) with kids weilding guns (that kid of the mom who got blown away) talking about suicides and murders and cheating on spouses is on at the same time as MNF on Saturday Night when kids have no school (in the US) the following day....yet no complaints about that.

Then again what parents would let their kids watch that show...:monkey:

I don't care WHAT they show. as long as they are CONSISTENT.

They make the game on 3 second delay because of the Janet Jackson incident or whatever and then have the NERVE to show that.

Just be CONSISTENT!!!!!! That's what get's me!

it doesnt scare me what my kids see on television.

it scares me that some parents dont teach their kids that television isnt always real.

kids learn morals from their parents, not television. if you instill strong morals in kids, nothing or nobody will take them off course, including television.
