In any form of gambling, the idea from the operator’s perspective is to set the odds at an ideal point where players get some entertainment value for their money.

I really liked that read Bill, but the books Nor the players on a majority level give a chit about each other. Loyalty bonuses would be perfect IMO. Books and players alike should show some loyalty to each other, but as long as you have the guy who loses 50% of his account on a bet and gets mad, then just throws the other 50% away in the casino while upset (hating the book for his sillyness), and the bookies that don't understand they always have the upper hand because they hold the money, then your ideas are only good reads.

Totally agree General, but if people in here start getting pissed that they have played at Pinny for a number of years and only newbies get the bonuses...well you get the picture. I probably request two withdrawls a year at most of my books, I never bet on the phone, I usually take the other side when they are getting whacked, etc. I stick by them too and never blame them for my own stupidity. Why I am one of the few that gets no benefits for all that? We should all be asking these questions and then making it clear to the books, who obviously do read here, that we ask for just such modest benefits and that is it. If you supposedly make 4.55% off of our action, is it asking too much to get 0.50% of it sent back to us in appreciation for our action?

You know what players want??

One thing and one thing only: CASH BACK!

Even half a percent would be nice. You would be so surprised at how a books volume would grow if they implemented such a program. For starters people like to see that they have accumulated a little something extra every month or so. It would encourage more visits to the book, as one checks their balance which in turn would yield more action as you have the player right where you want them. Both the book and the player would be happy with a program such as this.

I like many others are getting sick of playing at books that have no promotions whatsoever! Take Canbet for example. Canbet is my favorite book but I have slowly stopped playing there. Why you ask? Well simply because I am getting nothing in return for my play over and above my wins/losses. They offer a first deposit bonus, but that is it. You can say that players like the reduced juice, but the majority of us would like some sort of cash back. Something to show us that the books are grateful for our buisness.

Just my opinion.

Here's how I see it:

Deposit = Unsecured loan.
Bonus = High rate of interest paid for unsecure loan.

First I thougt, wow great article, but then... I probably missed the point of the article or Wild Bill made a mistake.

Online casino can give bonuses for everyone, mathematically online casino doesn't lose in a long run. No need to kick out winners.

Some land based casinos gives comps for everyone who gives enough action, mathematically they lose money only to card counters and they can kick them out.

Sportsbook can give bonuses only for losers, to keep them betting and losing more. If some bettor wins constantly at same book, giving out bonus, reduced juice or cash back doesn't help business. No way. Profit making bettor bets at that book until book kicks bettor out. Bettor doesn't disappear nowhere.

Only bonuses a sportsbook can give for winners are free withdrawals and let bettor play at that book.

You vastly overrate bettors skill. A small number of bettors are actually the type of winners that books worry about (guys that constantly beat books to a line move) and they can easily be dealt with by either being denied bonuses or given them at a much reduced rate. Notice though the few winners books worry about get the biggest bonuses because on average they start up with books with the biggest amount of money for the upfront bonus.

I have thought about this too. Say, for example, I agree to roll my money over 5X to earn the bonus. I deposit $1,000 with a sportsbook and get a 20% sign up bonus. After I've wagered $6,000 and earned the bonus, I get nothing. There is tremendous incentive for me to now pull my money out and negotiate another sign up bonus with another book.

Having said that, I am still a fan of the cash sign up bonus. I always increase my wagers for the season by the percentage of the sign up bonuses I expect to earn. For example, if my bankroll is $10,000 and I get $2,000 in bonus money, my standard wager increases from $300 to $360 per play.

Guardian Guaranty pays 10% interest on all account balances, unless the money is in their 105 club. I love that. This little gimmick has caused me to leave money with them after football season is over...money that I would have otherwise withdrawn. I have yet to make it through a season of MLB or College Hoops without betting, even though football is the only sport where I think I have a real chance at winning.

I'm just guessing your Guardian "Guaranteed" 10% fund does not have FDIC insurance?
