(11-16) 11:07 PST NEW YORK (AP) -- Evander Holyfield was suspended indefinitely by New York boxing officials in the wake of his loss Saturday night to journeyman Larry Donald. The suspension means the 42-year-old former four-time heavyweight champion will have to seek medical clearance if he wants to fight again. After losing a lopsided decision to Donald, Holyfield said he still plans to fight. Holyfield won only one round on one scorecard and two on the other two in the 12-round fight. Holyfield has won only two of his last nine fights, and took a beating a year ago from James Toney. Donald didn't hurt him, but Holyfield landed only 78 punches of his own over 12 rounds, according to ringside statistics compiled by Compubox. Holyfield told the New York Daily News on Monday that the New York State Athletic Commission was involved in a "conspiracy" to get him out of boxing and that he would contest the ban.

He lives in a part of Atlanta south called Union City, he truly has a compound with a guarded gate...I don't think its the money...he has better advisors than Tyson, and also has a couple of BMW dealerships that are doing well.

I will try and find a picture of his house and post it....He really is a nice guy, I met him twice; first time at Galleria Mall in St. Louis for the openning of Ozzies then again in the Final Four in Atlanta a couple years ago.

I'm looking for the file Journey, its an interesting story....He lived in a house on the same block that his present house is on. When he beat Dwight Mouhammed Qwai in 1986 he lost 15 pounds(during the fight) but gained the attention of the world. He then bought the property that he lives on now and I think (not a quote) hi mom or dad live in the old house...which is connected to the Holyfield compound. Damn I have a great pic if I can find the disc.

I agree Journey. I thought he was one of the boxers that saved all of his coin. Seems weird that he want to end up like Ali?:icon_conf

In hearing all of the recent interviews it seems as though Holyfield is driven by a couple of things. The first is establishing his place in history. He's intent on becoming the first four time undisputed heavyweight champion of the world at any cost, his health obviously included. A more deep seeded reason seems to be that he wants to prove everyone wrong. He's been told a cruiserweight couldn't be a heavyweight champ. He was told he couldn't win the titles back. He was told he couldn't defeat Tyson. He's proven them wrong before and he's driven to do it again. Seeing him against Donald was a truly sad sight.

On a side note, Rahman looked physically awesome. Meehan wasn't a test at all given his patehtic physical condition, but Rahman looks like he's back. The Ruiz-Golota match was odd at best. Ruiz makes almost every opponents look horrible. The punch and clench method he employs is awful. I'd really like to see Golota fight V. Klitchsko. I think they may be the most physically gifted heavyweights.

Alright, I'll stop my boxing rant talk for now. I could keep on going.

He lives in Fayette County, I live right up the street from him. I went to highschool with his nephew and met Evander at many school events. His house is amazing.
