Edwards will not start but might play
STANFORD -- Buddy Teevens announced Tuesday that T.C. Ostrander will get the start at quarterback Saturday against Cal in the Big Game.
Ostrander, a redshirt freshman from Menlo-Atherton High School, got his first start last Saturday against Oregon State as sophomore Trent Edwards, the starter the first nine games of the season, sat out with an injured shoulder.
"Trent practiced in a limited fashion today," Teevens said. "We'll go with T.C., though you might see both guys."
Ostrander completed 17 of 45 passes for 247 yards against the Beavers and rallied the Cardinal from a 21-3 halftime deficit in an eventual 24-19 loss. "Oregon State did a good job of bottling us up in the first half," Ostrander said. "But there were still opportunities. I think I'll see those things a lot better this week. We need to put a full game together. I think we're ready to do that."
